First paper towel, then coco coir, germinated in about 2 days, so soaked around 10/10/2020. Tied a knot on a stem about 5 days after germination. Don't know where it'll lead but I already have a bunch of plants like this. Probably might flower faster, though not sure, maybe I'm just stunning plants for no reason. Also, the lights are not 120W as pointed in the diary, I still plan to buy a new lamp and put them in veg, windowsill + led for now, that's why the stretch.
Week events! Moved the seedling from the kitchen into the small grow box that would work for veg and probably some tomatoes and greens, first light schedule was 'I woke up to pee and turned on the lights' and 'turn off when going to sleep' then 18/6 using timer socket. Plans are to either move to 12/12 or to repot into a slightly bigger pot soonish
Again, don't plant weed in a paper cups of volume less than 0.5 :-D
After repotting and giving some food the girl revigorated, day 4 was a sad day. The knot on the stem is not the reason for the stun, at least not the main one - I have a neighbor plant with a knot but that one was planted in a 0.5 plastic cup and didn't have that aweful stun.
Spots on the leaves at the end of the week again. It looks like it's too hot for her - the leaves are curling upwards, and water evaporates too fast so the salts are building up. That's my theory. She might be a bit more fragile than the indicas I have next to her.
Would try to be more careful with this one :-P At least she's fast to respond
GD should add "unintentional stress" as a growing technique 😄
She's still slow to develop! Nutrient burn, heat & light stress, and all thanks to me!
Cool that I'm starting to understand what exactly I did wrong from the way she looks, sad she has to suffer that much 😛
I'm thinking about repotting and switching to 12/12 next week. But my plans are flexible
Repotted on day 3 to save her, topped after 4th node on day 5, would keep in veg for some time since she stunned that much. Thinking of some variation of main-lining maybe...
This week - dog bites!
And some LST. Topping turned out to be FIMming, though done by hand so double surprize. I'm planning longer veg for this one. I guess I'll spread existing branches after bending down the stem. Let's see
So this week no injuries thankfully! 😄
Did some LST, trying to form a canopy.
So all seems fine. Tomatoes and the pepper in the background also feel good 😊
She will probably stay on veg for at least 3 or 4 weeks I suppose, no place in the flowering tent for her yet.
Mainly LST this week, watering sporadically. I popped another seed of this one and killed it so I plan to grow a smaller branch for cloning to compensate for the loss :-D
One of the plants in the flowering tent died so, on day 6, I moved this little lady to 12/12. I'm not super happy with the LST I've done and I start to losing hope in myself in terms of learning it all 😄
[OFFTOPIC] That plant died because I tied a knot on the stem and moved it too much, the poor thing basically unscrewed itself from its root zone by growing and tying the knot further and further. It looks like the size of the loop you have after tying plays a huge role in the final size of the plant. Since the loop was too small it started choking itself and it was also pretty compact and as a result, I have a tiny bush after 5 weeks of 12/12. It also had some male bananas and I've pollinated few buds around, so it's not a complete loss. And I took one branch for cloning, so hoping for monster-cropping. I'll start filling a new diary if it survives.
I have few plants like this around (this included) but I definitely decided to stop doing this stupid trick on the plants I plan on smoking at some point, and in general, I can advise you to do it for purposes of having fun only. I'm learning the hard way 😄
Forgot to take a picture on the first day of the week after moving into another tent. Habits, habits.
Pruned some smaller branches to avoid having too much of them. Failing LST again, I have an okayish scheme of actions with topping/stretching like with amnesia, but this time it's fucked up again. Let's see. At least it's not an autoflower! Ahah.
This is pre-flower, no pistils yet. I'm getting into the habit of being more honest with myself and counting flowering as it's supposed to be counted I guess :-D
Trying not to burn it :-) Removed the ties, not happy with the LST results at all. Cursing myself for being too greedy and planting too many seeds at once ahah
All seems well except that burns on the leaves, probably that's the signs of the week or two old fuckups, the solution was too salty for some time, might be that. She's a bit out of my interest for now since she doesn't need training already, and the buds are not so yummy yet and I find this stage of flowering pretty boring.
Moved her to the Critical Kush place, there's more light and more air, hoping that she'll grow a bit more on the sides that were in a shade. Tied the longest branch a bit so it won't poke the lights. All seem good. The nutrient solution is shitty, planning to change it completely this week
Removing another plant gives more space to this one and it's also more light, so all seem better, I'm also trying to watch solution saltyness this time since those burns are like scars on my heart ahah
The tops are burnt, lower buds are green and pistils are white. Not sure if it's burnt root zone damage or heat damage. Gotta call plant pathology anatomist on the harvest.
Hello, world!
Week 8 of real flowering or 9th of 12/12, all fine regarding feeding this time, but I've got another issue which is whiteflies infestation. :-P I'm picking plants or parts of the plants for cloning here and there and this is how I'm paying for it, oh yeah. I have some diatomaceous earth around but in general not sure that it would completely wipe them :-P Looking at them through the microscope was kinda fun though. Pale alien fuckers
Cut the rest on day 5. Found a couple of nanners here but they were closed and I didn't see any seeds on the buds so kinda safe with this one. One of the stress factors might be a minor light leak at the bottom area of the pots. Also training was kinda tough as you might see from the skeleton. As I mentioned in the comments already I reversed one of the clones and polinated a couple of neighbor plants. First time mating them, heh. Super excited
So few more fuck-ups this time - surviving the whole veg, then suffering overfeeding and colds and still yielded quite a lot pretty nice looking hard buds. I didn't weigh the harvest this time at all, I've got a small press and I'm a happy dabber now 😄 Sorry people.
