Beans Headed into week 3 less confident than week 2 after losing my runt to a sex change. Have a new appreciation/fear of minor disturbances in the light cycle and tiny indirect light leaks. Have an electrician coming this week for problems in my living room. Fingers crossed my girls wont even know he was here😓

Beans Finally grew the bells to do some trimming and try FIMing on 1 branch each. Think I missed though 😂. Thinking might be time to flower after this week... what do u guys think? I'm anxious to get a successful grow under my belt but gonna take a couple clones before just in case. 4/13 This week has been a blast so far! Experimenting a little with trimming and Fim'ing and getting good results. Getting a feel for Lst and starting to get my little system down for it. I dont even care I went way overboard on my budget anymore, this is exactly what I wanted :)

Beans Nervous and excited for my 1st flower cycle! Spent probably way too much time worrying about light leaks and trying to prevent them. Also figuring out how to fight the humidity. I hopefully the weather doesn't get to cold for me to keep some windows open. It did get too cold. Should've kept my mouth shut. 5/1-modified trellis net and turned each square into 4 squares. Was way too big to have any use. Raised it up about 3 inches now I can start fresh with a more functional setup. Have a max of 9" in height left and should try to keep it to 7 just to be safe. Hopefully it doesnt get outta hand.

Beans Still fighting humidity issues. If I keep my windows open it's down in the 40's but the problem is it's still getting down in the 30's at night. So when the lights are off from 330am. to 330pm and I'm working its climbing up into the mid 60's. Dehumidifier isn't helping much. That's $100 I wish I had back.

Beans 5/22 last day of week 4 flower. Got a stomach bug and was MIA for a couple days. Managed to feed but looks like a touch of nutrient burn so I'm gonna scale back the nutes a tad. Buds are starting to look pretty neat 😎 Hoping I wont have to worry about height much anymore. That would be amazing. Bananas pistols are turning orange in some spots. Is that normal or do I have a problem? Light burn maybe? I will be asking lots of questions from here on out so please chime in and help a brother out. Not sure what to do about nutes to fatten buds or how to go about lowering nitrogen. I stopped using the grow altogether last feeding worrying about nitrogen toxicity. Also how did I become an apprentice already? I dont feel like I've earned it yet so the pressure is on to live up to it haha.

Beans 5/29 last day of week 5. Have definitely learned some things for my next grow. Hoping my buds bulk up decently before harvest or I'm gonna have a a ton of little tetious nugs to try to mess with, but I will definitely walk away having learned a lesson from it.... And plotting vengeance haha 5/26 feel like I can see a difference in 24hrs since defoliating and feeding. That pleases me 👌 5/23 Appear to have a slight touch of nutrient burn....please look at my pic and give me input. Scaled back nutes for next feeding but hadn't planned on doing anything else unless it appears to continue. Only maybe 10-15 tips affected between both plants so I'm not overly concerned. Should I be?

Beans 5/30 getting excited and nervous. Think I f@#$ed up defoliating and stunted my bud growth....or I'm paranoid and/or impatient. Either way it's been a lot of fun. Could use guidance from anybody who's done this before for the final weeks. I've read so much throughout this grow that its hard to keep it all straight anymore. Point me in a direction and I'll go that way. Gotta finish strong!

Beans 6-12 last day of week 7, the end is near. Flushing with flora kleen and trying to make sense of what the trichomes are saying to me. Got a better tool for it coming in 2 days. Thank you all for following and keeping an eye me! I'm very thankful I found this site and am able to be a part of this great community. 6-10 Defoliated again to try to get most light to buds possible for the final push. Thinking it can only help at this point or do nothing. The buds that aren't developing as well and look worthless cant get more worthless so why not right? Lol 6-6 According to the breeder's flowering time I have 2 weeks on the SPK and 3 on the strawberry banana. Started giving just water today. Nervous about the grand finale 😕

Beans 6-17 not seeing any amber yet. Buds are fattening up so it's working in my favor at the moment. Its be amazing if both plants were ready at the same time. Hitting the home stretch. Looking forward to my 1st harvest but still have drying and curing left to not screw up. I think my yield is gonna be a bit disappointing but I have an idea what to do next time to try to fix it. Just flushing and trichome watching from here. I guess u could say just "watching the grass grow" lol

Beans 6-22-18 trichomes are boring me. Im like a kid wanting to play with his new puppy but the puppy just sits there looking cloudy and refuses to do anything amber :( 6-21-18 mostly cloudy with no amber still. Tempted to harvest but buds seems to be gaining size still. Anybody got a rough idea long I have left based on trichomes and how you would do it? I'd love to have hear as many methods/theories/thoughts as possible. 6-20-18 1st day of week 9 flower and no amber trichomes yet. Glad I started flushing early cuz still no real signs of nute deficiency. Next grow I will be more diligent about watering to run off and testing ph. Finally got ph of runoff up to 5.7 after 2 weeks of flora kleen and 7-7.5 ph water. Had no idea so much crap could build up in the soil. I had no signs of a problem so I didnt think I had 1. Glad harvest is running a little late so I have time to keep flushing and try to fix it. According to breeder timeline should be harvesting Spk today but doesnt appear ready. Could botched defoliating or not enough watts br delaying maturity? Or is this fairly standard?

Beans HELP I NEED AN ADULT!!!! Do the purple leaves mean the plant is dying and I need to harvest now before it gets ruined? I read something the other night that said that and now I'm stressing out. It said purple is no different than yellow and when most the leaves change color it's time to harvest before your bud gets ruined. Been flushing for 3 weeks now. Hoping my misunderstanding of the breeders timeline helps counteract my misunderstanding of nutrient build up and I dont get nasty smoke. I thought since I did light feedings more often and never had nutrient burn that all nutes were getting consumed. Based on the looks of my runoff, i think that was not the case. So I'm now under the impression I'm in my final week or 2. Got a new bigger tent and more watts for my next flower. Thinking of using small tent for veg cuz humidity is an issue and doing some kind of constant 6 plant rotation. You guys are stuck with me now! Haha

Grow Questions

Beansstarted grow question 7y ago
2 part question about harvest and flushing. I read that if most leaves around buds are turning color (purple in my case) you need to harvest soon before plant dies, is that accurate? If so my runoff is still the color of an ale after 3 weeks of flushing, is that normal or bad?
Solved
Leaves. Color - Dark-purple

Totally normal. Beautiful plants you have really hit he feeds perfectly. Doing it the way you did with the watering lighter amounts more often can really help. !!! Pull one off the fan leaves off and taste the juice from it. If it tastes salty or quite acidic (a little is ok) then you will need to flush !!! IMHO those lady’s look ready I would start the flush now and you can expect after 10 days they will have changed to various shades of autumn. It’s a natural process and shows that she’s not loaded up with nutrients. Message me if you need more info.

Beans Considering harvesting tonight. Should I wait and do the 3 days of dark? Is it ready? I'm struggling making the final calls on my 1st run....check the pics and help a brother out lol. Harvested over the weekend and just jarred up what felt dry to the touch. Still have some drying and some on the plant I'm waiting on to mature. Looks like I will probably have 6 quart mason jars when it's all said n done. Spk is pretty larfy but the strawberry banana looks like it needs to be in my lungs. Tried some spk I took off like 2 weeks ago and 1 hit got me lit. Made my girlfriend try it last night and she had the same result. Gonna try the banana tonight when I'm done being productive.

Beans 7/15/18-finishing harvest tomorrow after noon. Gonna see what 84hrs of dark have done to what is left of the girls. I think I could potentially end up with another 1.5oz or so if everything went well. Waiting til it's all cured to weigh it. I think I've stolen 12g of dried bud so far for samples for friends and myself. Both strains pack a decent punch. I'm very happy with my 1st grow regardless of what hapoel s with the extended dark experiment

The buds have a nice amount of purple to them and look like they should be models for high times or something. They were too crowded and possibly not enough watts as well so they are looser than I would like and the majority are smaller too. I didnt think the flavor was anything special, which is probably my fault but everybody else has said it was good. It certainly packs a punch. 1 hit and I was trying to take pictures for my diary but was just playing with the zoom on the camera and indiscriminately swiping and selecting things lol. Also I feel like I need to add that with the strawberry banana in the tent with it I ended up with 178g so that's just about 1g/watt.

Beans Spk grew relentlessly and was making the strawberry banana look bad for 90% of the grow. I light fed and trained with increasing amounts of defoliating as well and nothing I did slowed it down or hurt it. Good strain for my 1st grow. I'm gonna try to do it better for my 2nd. I counted like 40 kolas or something like that during preflower so it was too crowded + not enough watts I'm guessing. Buds were small and kinda loose as a whole. The 1s that had space and light are amazing. As far as the site goes....I fucking love it! Great experience, great people, great way to spend my time as far as I'm concerned. Thanks to everyone who followed and viewed. I hope it was worth watching. I'd like to give a special thanks to those who went out of their way and dedicated a lot of time to coaching me and answering my questions. I couldn't have had such a successful 1st grow with out all the help and I appreciate the hell out of it!!!! Hopefully I made u proud with the end result.

This 1 was definitely trailing in growth pretty much the entire grow but narrowed the gap right before I switched to 12/12. As flower progressed she kept that momentum and developed bigger buds than the spk along with more trichomes. My friends kept saying they shouldve been in a magazine. If they were, I'd buy the poster and hang it on my wall. I'm a light weight but I took 2 hits and was ripped for like 3-4 hrs and started doing yard work and other projects. The spk was my favorite for most of the grow but the strawberry banana took its spot. I started with 2 but 1 hermed on me and 1 of the clones I gave a friend did also due to the weird weather we had. Something to watch out for.

Beans It started off slow and didnt pick up momentum til 5 weeks of veg or so. If you are growing it be patient. It saves the best for last. The buds were amazing to look at but not photogenic. Pics dont do it justice. The spk was very photogenic. All in all I'd guess this was an easy strain to grow and good for beginners. As long as u dont stress it too much and start popping out sacs. Again I love the site and thanks to everyone for checking out my 1st grow! If you were somebody who took time to help me and teach me things, I will forever be grateful and even though I couldnt pick you out of a crowd, I consider you an invisible friend👊✌️... (also 178g total with the spk) ((and just under 7g of kief)) lol

dont beat yaself up too much dude we all gotta start somewhere!! ive had all kinds of issues with timers, ya best bet is to pick up a mechanical timer, the brand Grasslin are a safe bet and not too pricey! you also may find that using a grow light that has more of the blue spectrum for vegging works better, then switch to more red for flowering. as for space dude, make them do what you want them too! i use 2 layers of nets in tents, one relatively low to train the branches to make a canopy, the other higher up to support the buds, its all about filling that area, any light that hits the floor is a waste!! best of luck g and dont lose faith!!

@chewdanka, Thanks! I'm experimenting with the lights. My vivosun 300w ha more blue and I got 2 growant 240w for flower. I'm doing a side bu side with the vivo and growant for experimental purposes. O just want it to be successful and there's so much to learn. I get overwhelmed. Thanks for the tip on the timer. If I can ever figure out where to put another set up to have veg and flower going I'm definitely getting a mechanical timer. This high tech stuff isn't for me haha
