Happy to be growing again after a long break. First time growing autos so I'm hoping for the best.
Counting day 1 from seedling emergence. Trying out a new light, Photon Fantom Designs QB board 4000k, and noticed some stretch early. Lights started at 36 in so I lowered to 28 then to 24. 2 of the plants folded over due to weak stems so I am now down to 18 in going into week 2. The 2 plants in the back also appear to be a bit smaller. I am hoping with a boosted feed and lowered light these girls will recover quickly.
A lot of new growth this past week. I lowered my lights again because I think they were still too high last week. I also moved my plants around a bit because I think the passive cold air coming in through my vent makes the temperature slightly different towards that side of the tent. The plants closer to the heater appeared in better condition so I rotated them around and will likely continue this until I can get a heater for outside the tent.
I have also noticed some weird variegated-like patterns forming on the leaves (pictured above). They are almost white. I was curious if anyone believes this could be a deficiency or stunting. I wanted to wait a week for new growth before I made any calls but if anyone has input that would be appreciated.
Things have looked pretty good this week. Topped my two biggest plants at the beginning of the week. I am testing out a top+ train method, top+ no train method, no top+ train method, and 2 naturally growing plants. I think I got some tip burn from my light originally so I raised the light. I think one of my smaller plants got a little nute burn as the new growth was burnt at the tip and it was much smaller than my tallest plant leading me to believe it was nutrients rather than light. I flushed this plant out and hopefully everything balances itself out.
Out of town for the week so my buddy is looking after the setup. Unfortunately 1 crop was lost likely due to overwatering/flooded roots. Other than that not much to say considering I haven't been home this week. Likely flipping to flower soon.
Performed a large defoliation this past week. This is slightly earlier than I would have liked too but I am struggling to reduce my humidity. I figure it could take the autos more time to recover from a strip like this as well. I have been trying to dehumidify the air outside my tent with minimal success. Need a larger intake fan. I am also curious as to why the two plants (left) that were not topped are so much smaller than the topped plants. I figured this would be the other way around but they are double the size. This brings up a lighting issue as my light is extremely close to the bigger plants but rather far from the small girls.
Things are looking good. I propped the smallest crop up so it could be closer to the light as the other plants were experiencing some light burn. Need to work on my canopy management in the next run.
