Alright, here we go!
Week 1 Vegetative - "Ruby" was a little shy to come out, taking an extra 8-12 hours longer to pop out of the soil compared to the twin plant "Sam" (See other Diary). Even more interestingly, this plant has 3 cotyledons compared to the typical 2! This should be interesting to see what other sort of variations this gene pool will provide :)
The triplicate continued to the first set of true leaves. As you can see in the side by side shot, this has resulted in a slightly shorter height, though I did not go into exact measurements.
I have both plants in a starter tray with a vented cloner dome on top, and a seedling heating mat underneath. The grow room is a little in disarray right now with my vegetable garden seedlings started as well as a few other experiments, so I have them on a short shelf under a 1000W Blurple for this stage. I find these work perfectly fine with the lower outputs for seedlings.
I constantly play with the vents opening and closing to balance the humidity and soil moisture level. Have I said that I love having the time to do that now? XD
By the end of this week, both seedlings had the cotyledons and first set of leaves developing.
I am growing the same seeds from Irvine seed company. In week 2 right now will be posting diary soon. Could not find any info on their website, this is a mango cross with tangerine right?
