Just getting started on a demo grow sponsored by Mars Hydro. Genetics are an auto strain via Casper Seeds named after my IG handle @WickedGreen413. Lineage unknown. Potted in Nectar #4. Let's see what happens, shall we?
So far so good. No nutrients yet. These Wicked Green autos seem to be happy under the Mars Pro II Epistar so far. Up-potted to 1 gallon pots from solo cups. I'm not thinking it'll be necessary to go to 5 gallon pots with these, but we'll see. The breeder sent me a pic of one of their autos in a 2 liter that looked amazing, so maybe these gals won't mind a tight space. There's always next run if they do!
I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical of this pro Epistar II LED, but it seems to be functioning well so far. The temps are stable, coverage is good... I wish I had a quantum meter so I could give more accurate information! I did notice a slight uptick in growth when I switched from the full spectrum mode to just the veg mode (red to blue). I'll keep on this way for another week and see how she goes. Maybe two more weeks before I start giving nutrients. I fimmed one to see how the strain responds to training.
Almost exactly 28 days in, plants are showing signs of sexual orientation. The male was removed and donated to a friend who will grow him out with the hopes of trichome development or other potential beneficial breeding characteristics. I began adding 30ml of Herc per gallon to get a start on the residual calcium load needed to utilize Bloom Khaos properly in later feedings.
