IV decided to give growing in a Hempy a go. I really like the idea of passive hydro and currently have a tomato growing in a Hempy at an explosive rate. My first time growing Autos Critical Oange Punch...well...I'm reversing a plant using CS .
I have sprayed a bucket black, drilled a hole 2 inches from the bottom and loaded in some chunky pearlite. A mix of coco and perlite is on top, seed was germed using the paper towel method. She is currently at the one week stage and is spending time indoors and outdoors(I'm down under and the sun is shining).
Steady growth, a few fungus gnats so I have applied a thick layer of DE. Still spending time inaide and outside, should be fully outside in the next few week. Considering topping her this weekend.
Started training,I know it's risky but giving main-lining an auto a go. Fixed the fungus gnats problem with a layer of DE for a few days then replacing the top layer of coco with perlite.
Let's be honest, she looks like shit. I knew mainling an auto was going to be hard but this crazy!!!
Her branches are growing at different rates which makes it hard to know when to top again. I'm going to give it more time but I might pull the plug and start this Hempy again.
So the inevitable happened and I decided to stop wasting time. She wasn't looking happy and I have other plants to deal with. Whilst I know mainling autos can be done this particular plant didn't like the harsh treatment. I will be trying this again and have started 2 other plants if the same strain in smaller hempys to replace her.
