Since the plant started flowering, I noticed that the leaves were to standing, but cupped towards the plant. In a few days I noticed, that it's less pronounced in the morning, and far worse in the evening. After trying to research this, I found conflicting information, that it is ok, or that it is not normal ... I do not think this is over or underwatering, since I am watching that very closely. I will wait and hope that it resolves itself.
I nute burned het a little, so I eased off the nutrients for a few waterings. Otherwise the plant looks good, more and more of the stigmas are turning amber, but the smell is nowhere near the level of my previous time growing Gelato.
I tried to look at the trichomes and I think they looked mostly clear, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to properly handle the magnifying thing I have, I will probably just buy a normal loupe.
The plant is doing great, buds are getting thicker, trichomes are about 80% milky 20% clear so it has still some time to go. I recently read about the flush/dont flush debate, and I am going to try feeding almost to until harvest.
Not many changes. Trichomes still not 100% milky, will wait probably for a week max as I am getting anxious to harvest :D.
Update: 2 of the buds started foxtailing, but I do not think it is due to light/heat stress, as few days later, most of the other buds show some signs too. I am planning to harvest tomorrow.
I have not fully finished the cure yet, but I will compare it to Gelato I grown previosuly. The grow was good, I did not encounter any major problems.Harvested amount was fine, but not excelent. The final buds are nice and pretty dense, and they caught a little purple by the end which gives them nice color. The taste and smell is really weak, I could smell the diesel/fuel taste when trimming, and when breaking up flowers, but you really have to try to smell it. It really is nothing compared to Gelato, which stank up the whole room even through carbon filters, but this one you could not really smell even with the box door open. Overall not dissapointed, but not really excited, not sure if I would grow again as I like more fragrant strains, but would probably work great for a stealth grow.
The buds were dried untrimmed for 5 day, then mostly trimmed for another day. Next time I will probably jar them sooner, since they now feel pretty dry, even though the stalks were still mostly bending, not snapping even after 6 day.
Harvest amount was average, I screwed up the LST a little, as I was tying down even lower branches (in retrospect i do not know why 🤦♂️) and the resulting canopy was anything but even 😀.
@minigroww, you made a nice choice! I like it a lot! I’m growing in a micro box made by another brand but it’s a similar concept. I like that the exhaust fans on your unit don’t block out anything like my unit does. I have to shift plants around so they each receive optimal lighting. But hey, for a 20inx20in box I got a 7.50 ounce yield on my last grow 😂
I look forward to seeing more updates on this diary!
@FreshCoastOrganics, thanks for the encouragement 🙏. Regarding the grow box, I am really happy with it, it was a little pricey for me, but worth every penny in hindsight. I am a beginner and looking after the plants is hard enough for me even without worrying about the box setup & stuff. (got it from https://minigrowbox.com/, not affiliated in any way, just a very satisfied user.)
@DreamOn, thanks, this is actually a few weeks ago as I was just uploading my backlog. Seems the luck did not run out so far as everything is going great 👌.
