This seed was germinated by first soaking in water for around 20 hours until the seed opened and then transferring it to a moist paper towel in a ziplock. The popped seed stayed in the paper towel for 36 hours until the taproot was a little under half an inch long. The seed was then placed in the soil under lights and it broke the surface around 32 hours later.
11/19 - seed in water
11/20 - cracked seed in paper towel
11/22 - seed with taproot in soil
11/23 - seed sprouted
This little girl is doing pretty well! She has added her first true set of leaves and is quickly growing another. I ended up watering her every other day with a sprayer only in the area where she is growing.
Temperature has peaked at 80 degrees one day but mainly hovers around 77 during the day and drops to 68 at night. Humidity peaks at 80% with lights off and 55% with lights on. I have a humidifier that runs twice a day and brings the humidity up to around 70%.
No nutrients or training yet
Baby Banana Blaze is growing strong! I gave her her first real watering on D16 with around a half gallon of water around her stalk. Everything is going great so far
Well she’s growing pretty good considering “the snap!” I am continuing to LST her two “main” stems towards the outer edge of the pot. She has a decent amount of side branches forming, perhaps three on each stem. She adds a new node every 2-3 days. She’s pretty short and I imagine she will stay that way until the stretch. Fingers crossed she continues to grow quickly!
Anyone have any tips on when to start nutes on this girl? Her bottom single leaf is yellowing a bit and one or two other lower leaves have a yellow mottled coloring. Not sure if that’s from touching the soil due to LST or because she’s hungry. This is supposedly a low nute strain
Lower leafes just get a bit less light nothing to worry about...
For the Nutes if you want to go safe just use a third or half the dose advertised and you should be good.👍
This little plant keeps on growing! She’s getting pretty bushy and I definitely need to keep up with the LST to keep her under control. Switched her lights to include half 3500k bulbs and half 6500k bulbs. Will switch fully to 6500k once flowering is in full swing. No idea how much she’ll yield but she looks pretty good so far!
This week I saw a lot of new growth as this girl spent her first real week in flower. She has more preflowers forming and the stretch has brought pretty much all of her side branches to the edge of the pot. She has bounced back really quickly from LST and usually her nodes are facing up a few hours later. I also defoliated a bit taking a few leaves at a time to let light reach the smaller side branches and make way for more ventilation. She replaces everything I remove overnight! Really looking forward to seeing how she flowers!
I think this will be the last week I do much major LST. Her side branches have reached the edge of the pot and her main stalks have gone even past that by a few inches. Aside from major adjustments I may just let her grow up and hope she doesn’t get too tall!
This plant continues to chug along! She has responded very well to LST and defoliation. This week she stretched about four inches and has overtaken the edge of the pot by a few inches. I’m running out of room under my grow light so I think I will let her grow with minimal training and make minor adjustments as necessary. Almost all of her tops have started producing a solid amount of pistils and I’m very excited to see what she will yield
The only problematic things this week was a split developing in the left over bit from the topping incident and accidentally removing a top instead of a fan leaf. I put the top in some water so we will see if she roots in a week or so. Hopefully the split won’t spread any further and nothing funky will happen inside!
This week has been pretty good. There was a decent amount of growth and I adjusted the ties a little bit to compensate. I also defoliated around 10 leaves to open up the canopy some more.
I’ve been having some problems with the top leaves drooping a bit. I thought it may have been due to under watering due to five days between watering sessions. She perked up a little after getting some water but she started drooling again after a day or two with the soil still moist. I also raised the light a bit in case light stress was the problem. She’s still growing but the drooping worries me a bit. I think she is definitely going to take longer than 12 weeks-we’ll see
This week I had some problems with low temperature and low humidity. I solved the problem and she very quickly bounced back and started growing quick. I also did a flush this week to clear out any salt buildup as my runoff ppm was pretty high. She’s growing steady but a bit slow for my taste! I think she’s definitely going to take at least 16 weeks - we’ll see what happens!
Bud production started picking up this week. She’s been growing pretty fast and is getting really bushy! She definitely isn’t going to finish in 12 weeks, maybe because of how big she has gotten? We’ll see what happens!
This week the buds have really started developing and pushing out trichomes. They are still pretty small but there is definite potential here. The top leaves have started to yellow a bit, I believe it is from light stress. I raised my light up a bit more and we will see if she recovers
@yomi23, I’m very excited to see her bud structure. My first grow produced a fairly large yield but lots of larf and fluff. Smokes pretty decent but I love dense buds
