I was one of the lucky winners of one of RQS's sample pack. So I was given 5 seeds, sadly one did not germinate.
One of the four plants (the one in the 11L fabric pot from RQS) will only be fed with the Easy combo nutes and easy boost mixed into the soil. The three plants in the 20L pots will be fed with guinea pig manure tea and all have guinea pig manure mixed into the soil.
The mulch I use is leftover hay and straw from the guinea pigs cage aftercleaning. I use this in a attempt to keep the plants warm since this is a winter greenhouse grow.
I intend to supplement sunlight with some T8 led lights.
I am sorry for the late update. I have a broken arm which makes it hard to take good pictures. I have now received the T8 led lights. I substituted the sun with these lights from 6 to 9 and from 18 to 24 if it is sunny outside. Otherwise from 6 to 24 so that they get 18 hours of light.
My arm is still not well so I am sorry for the bad photos. The plants are definitivly growing slower now during the winter, mostly due to the low themperatues . I have started doing some LST on the two biggest plants and I think they will both go into bloom next week. I gave the felt pot plant growth booster from the Easy Combo Boster pack from RQS. The other plants recived guinea pig manure tea. This was actually the first time I gave the plants anything (including water) since I planted them. They barely drink and with the hay/straw mulch and the low temperatures almost no moisture evaporates. Next update will be more detailed with better photos because I have now removed the cast on my arm.
The growth this week has been impressive and the smallest plant has now outgrown all the other plants and now has a fat stem and fat leaves. It is starting to live up to it's name lol.. Also, I think I have finally been able to kill the worm that was eating one of the plants. This growth has probably been due to me switching to 24h light, leaving the light on all night to further encourage growth and to help keeping the greenhouse warm. The tempreartures for january are not looking good though and I am a bit worried, they might go below 0 c soon.
The plants have not recived any nutrients or water this week. All plants except the small one who outgrew the other ones showed signs of overfeeding after last week's feeding and got some some weird discoluration on the first true leaves. I think this is due to low temperatures and/or overfeeding.
The felt pot plant is really flowering and have started to develop trichomes but is not really growing in size (it might be the smallest plant I have right now). The other plant that I also started doing LST on last week has just started showing preflowers and is adapting great to the LST.
The two other plants are still in veg and I have started doing LST to them too now.
This week has been much colder, going as far down as 1 c. The growth has because of this not been as impressive this week as last week but now all plants are flowering.
While doing LST on the "FAT plant" the mainstem snapped where I had earler been bent it down. I hurried to tape this and at first I was a bit worried about the plant. Now, 2 days later, the plant is looking as well as it did before the accident. It doesn't even seem to have been stunned.
This week I have only fed them once, I gave them all some Alg-A-Mic from Biobizz which is a CAL/MAG organic fertilizer to give them a boost for flowering.
I am not really seeing the stretch that usually comes with flower. I think that migh have to do with the cool weather, or might it be because of my growlights and the wintersun having too much red light. The lights has 80 red diodes, 360 warm white, and 160 white.
The fat plant has been growing well though the mainstem snapped. It looks like shit but it seems to work lol. The plant had another accident just before takning todays fotos, but this time it was only a branch... The same thing happend... When I tried to adjust the LST then it snapped where I had earlier bent it down. This time it was only hanging on by a thread and I really don't think it will make it but I tried taping it together. I won't LST this plant anymore...! Hopefully I won't loose to much...
The plant that used to have the worm muching on it's leaves has gown really fat and bushy, but no stretch at all and because of that it is almost impossible to LST it. I defoliated this one a litte bit to let some light in to the lower shoots... I have no idea what more I can do.
Luckly I have one plant that is really loving the LST and is showing a little bit of stretch and is now in it's second week of flower. I got high hopes for this one!
The last and least (I guess? lol) is the felt pot plant. I have no idea what is going on with that one, it is a weird one but I love it! It is all dark green, tiny and has already started to form beautiful PURPLE frosty buds. It smells really sweet!
I really wish I had an auto male or access to some auto male pollen so I could get some seeds from these, I really like the genetics at play here. I honestly did not expect this grow to go this well.
This week I feed them all once, Guinea pig tea!
This week has been really cold and I am amazed by the growth this week! Something that also amazed me is that the second accident seems to be healing fine. I really wish I knew somebody with some autoflower pollen/male plant so I'd be able to get some seeds. The genetics in the fat plant are amazing!
This week I have only given them guine pig tea once, I forgot that I prepared the tea so it sat "cooking" a fair bit longer than I normally cook it. It seems to have made the tea a bit stronger than normally and I'v noticed some nut-burn two plants, felt pot and no stetch.
This is the first week I have fed the plants twice, alg-a-mic in the beggining of the week and today I decided to try the bloom tablet that RQS gave me :).
No stretch plant has been bulking up and is now the fattest and biggest plant.
I had to remove a branch from "the fat plant" because I accidently hit it while moving the plant and it broke beyond repair... :(
LST plant is starting to smell and frost now.
And the felt pot is really frosty now, I LOVE IT!
The growth has been really good this week and I can really tell that the plants are loving the warmer climate. I've been pretty occupied this week so I acctually haven't fed them or given them any water but they seem happy lol.
As you can see in the photos I think that the felt pot plant is ready for harvest.
The fat plant is now the biggest again I think.
The uppdate is late due to me being very busy last week. I haven't fed or watered them. I probably spent a total of 10 minutes on the girls this week... They look good anyway! And starting to smell really good too!
The fat plant has started to frost! I also think that the leaves are being light burnt due to them being very close to the light or even touching them.
The "Fat plant" is still streching!
I harvested the felt pot plant, she did not amout to much but she smells nice and was very frosty.
Due to variuos reason, one of them being the greenhouse being torn to pieces by a storm I have decided to finish flower these inside.
