Standard germination method where I place a sheet of paper towel on a plate then wet the towel on the plate and tip away any excess. I then place the seed on the wet paper towel and get another snd place it on top and then soak the towels enough so I can see the seed and then tip away any excess. I then place an identical plate on top so no light can leak in and place the plate into my heated propagator, spray the lid lightly with water to create a humid environment and leave for 24 hours. If I check and the towels are dry or I can't see the seed I will run it under the tap or use a spray bottle to wet the surface as tip away and excess. Tap route showed in just over 24 hours and then again she broke the soil in anther 24 hours. At the point no nutrients will be used for 1-2 weeks due to there being enough in the soil - (BioBizz All Mix) seed germinated in just over 24 hours and broke the soil after a further day or so... the pic is after 5 days in soil.
8-9 days in with this lady and she's plodding along nicely. As with most of my girls I do not use any nutrients for the first week or so as I'm using Bio Bizz All mix soil and I feel this contains enough to get them started. I will introduce light nutrients going into the second week and ease them in gently.
My plans are to repot when she is big enough into 5 or 10l pot. I also plan to LST again once she is big enough usually around 3 weeks.
First week with nutes for that girl didn't go the best, I used a mix that was put with my other girls which went fine with them but clearly this girl didn't respond as I would have liked but I would like to report the good and the bad in my diary's and not just show successes.... it's how we learn at the end of the day :)
I'm not too worried I just know now for the next feed that this girl won't like as much as instructed on the remo schedule.... I always use any schedule from nutrient line just as a guide and will always go slightly less as you can always go up if you need next time.
In this case I will just give this lady water for the next feed or two as to let her bounce back. I have noticed a slight mutation in the leafs so maybe the nutes were fine and it was genetics..... either way this will be a learning curve and I will just keep an eye on her .... no need to panic, just keep calm snd carry on 👌
This lady bounced back real nicely from her LST and earlier issues and has been growing nice and fast! I must add these pictures are just about 5 weeks in hence the difference in growth. She is yet to start flowering so I have kept her on the same feed for now and the last few days the garden has been looking nice and happy - keep your eyes peeled for next weeks update 😄💚
Week 5 for this Magnum auto and she's still going strong! Not seeing any signs of flowering yet which is fine as I'm happy for her to keep putting on size... as such I have kept the veg nutrients light and just feeding when the soil is dry. Seeing some colour and bud sites now, I will continue to let this lady do her thing whilst tucking the odd leaf here and there to keep the light even to the whole canopy. I'm happy with the results so far and am looking forward to seeing her develop as time goes on.
So myself and my very good experienced friend think this girl may be a photo... being that she's so far along and not showing signs of flowering I have taken the decision to flip her to 12/12 and see what happens. So far it's been 3 days since I changed over and haven't seen any changes yet but it is still too soon to be able to tell. I'm excited to see what happens and all in all this girl is going great. Growing a nice pace and happy continuing on with a light feed all whilst maintaining steady growth.
This girl has been very interesting, as it stands today she is 84 days old and was put into flower 34 days ago. She wasn't flowering so after 49 days I removed the Lst ties and I switched her to 12/12.
My plan was to force flowering and minimise stress which has as you can probably see has resulted in the canopy being even apart from the main cola that just took off when the ties were removed.
Things started to change within a few days so I'm keeping to this schedule till the end. Overall she has been going well and have been continuing to feed light and every other feed with just plain PH water and will keep on like this until I plan to flush. (Looks like there's a glitch in the weeks on here and it won't let me change it so please don't pay attention to this, correct days/ flowering time mentioned above)
