Day 1-This is my first grow ever and I'm really looking forward to it. After what seemed like forever my seeds finally came in and I've selected the 3 White Widow Auto seeds that came free with my order. I'm just gonna put 'em in a paper towel to germinate and go from there. It might be a little overkill but I selected 7 gallon fabric pots to grow in and I'll be planting the germinated seeds directly into their final home. Seeing as how I'm new to this I went with some mainstream products: Happy Frog Potting Soil with Advanced Nutrients Bloom, Micro, and Grow. I'm using the 100w Alphapar LED light that came with my setup. Day 4- 72 hours later and only one seed has started so far. Hopefully the others follow suit quickly but if they don't I'm not too worried about it seeing as they were free with the order. I'll drop this one in the dirt, add some water and see how it goes. Day 6- The other seeds didn't pop so I decided to go with plan B and get one GG#4 and GSC started as well but I made a mistake that hopefully I can rectify before it does any harm. I ph balanced 4 liters of water in a large measuring pitcher to 6.5 before I started but somehow today the ph of that water was above 8. No wonder my seeds didn't want to start growing! I guess I need to let the water sit for a minute and check it again before I assume the ph is correct, or maybe my ph meter is just a cheap piece of junk or both. I probably overwatered today with non ph treated water to try to push some of that bad water out or at least dilute it so we'll see what happens. Day 7- My baby girl popped her head up out of the dirt on day 6! Lookin forward to seein her grow but a little disappointed that I only got 1 out of 3 but I won't make the same mistakes with the ph of the water next time.

I was gonna wait until the beginning of week 3 to add nutrients. Is that a good or bad idea?

Fertilizing usually starts when the first set of leaves has fully matured (second set starts growing) and with about 1/5-1/4 of the recommended fertilizer dosage (always better off using less since deficiencies are less stressful to your plants than toxicities!), as the plant matures or show deficiencies you add more fertilizer. Listen to your plant and pay attention to the leaves! they are the best indication for fertilizing needs!. Hope this helps! Good luck and happy growing :)

Day 9- After 8 days I've got a little girl about 1.5 inches tall! 😁 I also started a CO2 enhancer because my other 2 plants popped up but those will be discussed in the next diary. Though I will say that I planted those directly in the substrate in 7 gallon pots and they came up in about 3 days so I think I'm gonna go that route for germination from now on. The CO2 enhancer I used is just a basic refillable bottle from TNB Naturals but it says it can keep a 12x12 room at 1400 ppm for 2 weeks so I think it'll be more than enough for a little 3x3 tent. I'm running the lights 24 hours right now and I'll probably keep it there throughout veg then switch to 18/6 when she starts flowering. The main thing I think I'm gonna have a problem with is keeping the humidity at the right level over a period of time. The light evaporates water from the pot or the humidifier or both and raises the humidity level over time so that could be an issue during flowering. I think I'll remove the humidifier during flowering, run the fan and filter every hour, monitor it closely and make adjustments if necessary. Day 12- She's gettin bigger! You can't really see it in the picture but when you look close you can see the next set of leaves starting to grow. It's too soon to tell if the CO2 is making much of a difference, if it is then I suspect that she's about to hit a significant growth spurt. Day-14 My girl is definitely starting to grow faster! She's at 2 inches with more leaves forming. I gave 2 liters of water today, which is a 1 liter increase from what I've been giving her every 3 days. I didn't get much runoff like I did with the other plants, probably because she's a little further along and has more roots, idk but we'll see how the increased watering affects her. I expect that I'll be doing some training and adding some nutrients by the end of week 2, maybe even the next time I water her.

Exito!

Day 15- Her next set of leaves is coming in so I'll probably be starting some LST this week along with a weak nutrient solution the next time I water (on day 17 or 18). I watered on day 14 with 2 liters and I've been letting the soil pretty much dry out between waterings. It's so difficult to stay disciplined and not start doing things too early, I really want to tie her down today but I'll give a chance to grow a little more first. Day 16- I broke down and bent her over today for some light LST because she was lookin ready, also gave a slight bit of weak nutrient solution about .5 liters at 25% strength. She turned herself back toward the light in less than 5 hours. It's amazing how fast it'll respond to a little bit of stress. Day 18- Got quite a bit of undergrowth comin up faster! I adjusted the tie downs and added a couple to expose the undergrowth even more. I gave another 2 liters of water today, next watering she's gettin a 2 liter dose of nutrients. Day 19- I untied her today because I do want it to get a little bit taller and I kinda wrapped the tie down too high up the plant and actually kinda bunched up the top set of leaves. I'm gonna let her recover until the start of the next week then tie her down again. Day 21- I tied her back down today, did some light defoliation leaving only one fan leaf, and tied down the new branches seeing as how they've grown enough by now to do so. This thing grows super fast, I'm looking forward to seeing what she does when I start feeding her regularly. It's looking like I'm gonna have at least 7-9 good cola sites so far but we'll see. Gonna feed her tomorrow but I might just use 1 liter because there's still a good bit of water in the bottom of the pot from the last feeding.

Day 22- I adjusted her tie downs today and removed that last fan leaf because she doesn't need it. I gave her 1.5 L of a fairly weak nutrient solution so we'll see how she responds, it doesn't really seem like she needs it yet because she's not showing any signs of deficiency but I don't think I should wait much longer to start feeding. I just hope she doesn't get any nutrient burn. I'll report back in a few days with an update. Day 25- I tell you what she definitely picked up the pace a little, probably because of the nutrient solution last watering but i fed her today with another 1.5L of water. Wednesday I'll give another dose of nutrients. Day 28- She is coming along nicely, plenty of branches comin out so I untied her for a day then put a couple tie downs in today to open up the middle a little more. Tomorrow she will get a full dose of nutrients. I'm guessing she'll probably go about another week or so before she starts flowering at which point I'll set my fan/filter to 15 on 15 off to keep the humidity steady for flowering. I'll update tomorrow for the beginning of week 4.

Day 29- I'm trying to get as many bud sites as possible so I chopped some of her leaves off to open her up real good for this last bit of LST. I watered her with 1.5L of nutrient solution at 100% strength for the first time so we'll see how that affects her. I also lowered the light to 12 inches from the plants to see if that will boost the undergrowth on those stretched out branches along with the boost in nutrients so we'll see how that works. Day 32- I got the desired effect out of moving the light to 12 inches for a few days so I moved it back to 18 today. The reason why I moved it closer is because she was a little overwatered from the feeding so from now on I'll just feed with 1L. She responded almost immediately to the increased light intensity and the areas where I wanted to to see boosted growth popped way up in only 2 days. I did not water her today because there seems to be a decent amount of water left in the bottom of the pot so I'm gonna let her dry out at least until the next feeding day on day 36. Day 35- Here we are at the end of the 4th week and she has grown into quite the bushy girl. I've untied most of her branches aside from the main stem and 2 branches that I want to grow more outward. Gonna water her tomorrow with more nutrient solution but only 1L then I'm gonna start checking to see if she needs water at least every other day because I know she's about to pick up on how much she drinks. Hopefully she starts flowering soon, I'm hoping to harvest this girl close to the end of march but I've got a feeling it'll be closer to the beginning-middle of April before I have a good amount of smokable bud.

Day 36- Alright boys and girls it's the start of the fifth week and by my best guesstimates and info that I've read she's about to really start drinkin water and she'll be flowering soon, so one last round of defol and a little LST for when that happens. I fed her with 1 liter of nutrient solution today at 100% strength and I'm gonna start checkin every 2 days to see if she needs water. She's coming along nicely and I think I'm gonna get a good size harvest. My goal for this first auto grow is a 1/4lb, if I hit that mark I'll be extremely happy. Day 38- When I opened up the tent today and took a good look I noticed that she is starting to flower! By the end of this week she'll be in full flower mode so I'm gonna ramp up nutrients a bit and starting next week I'll be adding flower fuel to the nutrient mix. I'm gonna give her a feeding tomorrow because I've been keeping it rather light and she is drinking a bit more now. The soil has been drying out about every 2 days with 1L waterings, so I expect to have to increase the amount of water she's getting really soon. Day 42- I'd say she's in the flowering stage by now! Gonna start adding some flowering nutrients to the mix. After two weeks I'm gonna stop using the micro, grow, and bloom and just us the cal mag and flower fuel until the end of week 6 when I flush her out for the end phase. Can't wait to see what these buds are gonna look like!

Day 43- Here we are in the first week of flower but idk if it'd be considered the first day of flower so I'll keep that in mind when deciding when to flush and harvest. I watered with 1.5L of nutrient solution with some flower fuel added in. This is the strongest dose of nutrients she's gotten so far, I'm hoping it's not too much but we'll find out soon. I'm trying to keep the longer branches growing outward and let the shorter ones grow up so they can be as even as possible but these branches are kinda stubborn lol. She's really starting to gain height quickly now, hopefully she doesn't stretch too fast because I don't want the light to be too far from my other plants before they go into flower but I'm gonna be optimistic and tell myself the other two will grow into the light lol. Day 47- Watered with 2L of water and did some more defoliation and LST adjustments. She smells wonderful already and I'm curious to see how much she's gonna stretch before she really starts producing flowers.

Day 50- I'd say I'm about half way through this grow by now and I couldn't be happier about how this plant is growing up to this point. Fed her with another 2L nutrient solution at lights on that she has responded well to. After this week I'm gonna cut back on the nitrogen I'm giving her by cutting out the advanced nutrients and only using the cal/mag+flower fuel mix until I flush her out. Day 54-She's moving along nicely! Had to switch the lighting to 12-12 for my other plants to go into flower but that shouldn't affect her too much seeing as how thc is produced during the dark period anyway. Watered with another 2L at lights on, not gonna give her anymore until Day 57 when she gets her next nutrient solution.

Day 57- At the start of the 3rd week of flower I haven't seen as much stretch as expected but I have noticed some. Bud sites are coming along nicely and I expect that they'll start making some significant gains in mass after this week. I fed with a 2L nutrient solution which consisted of 2ml of cal/mag and 1/2 a scoop of flower fuel which (I just realized) is about 1/8th of a tsp, so I actually used less than I thought and I do believe I'm supposed to keep feeding the base nutrients along with the flower fuel after checking the directions again.... oops lol I'll cut way down on the Grow portion of the base nutrients because that has the most N in the next feeding but for now she's fine with just the cal/mag flower fuel mix. Gave her a round of defoliation, then tied down her branches again because I untied them for a few days. Day 59- Started adding blackstrap molasses to her water, wish I had been doin this since the beginning seeing as how it's good for the microbes in the soil and actually produces CO2 when consumed by those microbes but I've been using a CO2 supplement anyway. Now I no longer need to spend money on the tnb naturals CO2 enhancers. I'm gonna use up what I've got left before nixing it from the garden. Day 61- Just gave her about 1.5 L of straight up water, also gave her a bit of a spin to get some other spots under the strongest part of the light. Did some HST to the tallest branches. There are quite a few branches with some decent lookin bud sites. I tried to make sure there wouldn't be any way down low on the plant that won't get enough light anyway and I think I did a pretty good job of that with maybe an exception or two. Oh well this'll be the only time I grow this specific strain anyway so I'm just gonna do my best and keep my fingers crossed!

Day 64- After 3 weeks of flowering I think she's pretty much done stretching for the most part but I could be wrong, only time will tell. Getting the orange hairs showing up on the buds now, I wanna see these things swell up lol. I'm gonna be looking for a spots to hit with some HST because like I said before it really caused the buds to start developing faster on that first branch and I'm waiting to see the final results of the last bit of training that I did. Fed her with 2L of nutrient solution that was low in N and high in P&K. I'm not sure how much N the soil has left in it including what I've been putting in there so I guess we'll find out at flush time if she changes color super fast from lack of nutrients or if she is still vibrant come harvest time. Day 68- She is still stretchin, had to raise the light because she got within 12 inches of it. I'm wondering if these branches are gonna keep getting taller or what lol. I fed her with 2L of water with a half a tsp of blackstrap molasses mixed in. I did a little bit of defol to uncover the lower bud sites but not much.

Day 71- Well starting this week I'll only be updating once a week because I'm about to have surgery. The worst part is that I won't be able to check on my garden for two whole days while I'm in the hospital! That's gonna be torture but I digress, fed with 2L of nutrient solution today the same as last week. I'm not sure when I'm gonna start the flush, either after week 6 or 7 just depends on what she's lookin like. Still haven't seen the buds fattening up yet but we've still got at least 4 weeks to go until harvest so I'm just trying to be patient. I'm sure when it happens I'll be amazed lol

Day 78- Day 36 of flower- Boy after 4 days of me being in the hospital my girl got a little out of hand. Had to do some defoliation yesterday. Fed her with a 2L nutrient solution today and left it at that. Day 83- I just took some pics before the light came on to really capture the colors and frostiness.

Day 46 of flower- This girl just keeps gettin frostier and more beautiful. Day 47 of flower- put her in the dark to start it’s 48 hr dark period. Gonna harvest on day 49. I’m excited see how much of an effect the dark plays on the gain of frostiness before chopping.

The grow cycle of this girl got a little messed up but it still produced some good lookin ass bud. I can’t wait to smoke some of this and make some hash. I’ll update with a smoke report around the end of April til then check out my other diaries. Hash smoke report- This stuff is bomb, it’s got a sweet creamy kinda flavor. I made it from fresh frozen trim that was sifted in my trim bin a couple of times with the hot jar method. It’s a pretty balanced high but if you smoke a lot it’ll turn you into a couch potato. After drying I weighed it up and it came out to a whopping 28gs. 1/4 of what I was goin for but I learned a lot and won’t make the mistake of growing autos again lol Smoke report- The bud turned out pretty good although it kinda still tasted a little green but I smoked it anyway lol it has kind of a sweet creamy earthy flavor. I get a wave of euphoria before the relaxation sets in but once it does it makes it pretty easy to drift off to sleep. I’m gonna get some white widow photoperiod seeds because I feel like that’s a better way to go, I’m not a fan of not being able to control when the plant starts flowering.

I've never heard of someone taking the time to dry the trim. I just freeze it. Seems to me if it's dry, you will just get more plant material in your hash or butter or whatever.
