- Low Stress Training begins at the start of the week. Simply bending the main stem over.
- These early attempts at LST were flawed and did not work well. Mainly due to lack of experience on my part, but specifically:
1. I tried to use things I had laying around that were not fit for the job. I used string with 2 pieces of electrical tape back-to-back to create a loop, which in theory would stop the string from cutting into the stem by increasing the contact patch. In reality this was incredibly fiddly to adjust and the loop would slip up and down the stem.
2. I used the edge of the fabric pots as anchor points for the string. This was fine until the plants were put back in their tent. Due to the tight space often the pots would change shape slightly, in turn moving the anchor points and changing the tension on the string. Temporary solution was to adjust the strings while the plants were in the tent, but it never worked well.
- Another first for me, topped both plants after 5-6 nodes. No problems here.
- Worth noting that poor watering habits began to show. Simply not giving them enough for fear of over watering. I eventually became familiar with the symptoms of under-watering and fixed it.
@Squidlin, If you keep it up like your doing now you will get yields like me or even more.
I am one year in this growing thing and i think i have done almost every mistake there is and failed many times.
So from now i will get better grows and yields.
I wish you the best of luck and massive yields.
@CBD_Sweden, Thank you so much for your support! I am new, so having experienced growers like yourself take interest in my diary is a massive confidence boost.
I look forward to getting similar yields as you do one day :P
@DinafemSeeds, Hi Mark!
Sorry for the very delayed reply, life has been manic and I've not had a chance to update.
I am still blown away by Critical Mass CBD! So happy.
I'll shoot you a PM.
@Squidlin,
Congratulations on a super successful harvest :)
And even better to read that this was a life changing moment and you'll be trying more of our strains soon :)
Drop me a pm my friend! Love your work :)
All the best
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds,
Hi Mark,
Harvest completed, I've finally updated after a 2 weeks cure.
This is probably my favourite strain honestly. It's my first CBD strain and I am so pleased I gave it a go. I can't remember feeling so motivated, clear headed and happy.
Yield was low (I think?) but that's down to lack of experience, I have 2 more seeds so I will keep improving! It's plenty for me either way.
Thanks so much man, a genuine life changing moment! I will definitely be coming back for more Dinafem seeds!
Big fat beautuful bud production and trichome development is going crazy :)
Fantastic work my friend and I'll drop back in on the next update :)
All the best
Mark..
@Squidlin, it will come faster than you can imagine mate :)
They are getting fatter every time I see them. Pistol colour has started to change so harvest is only 2-3 weeks away :)
Are you checking trichome colour and development?
This will let you select the best harvest window :)
All the best
Mark.
Your at that stage now where your structure is fixed as the stretch phase is over.
Now that beautiful structure has started to full out with some very pretty looking buds which are going to explode in the coming weeks :)
Will be watching with interest my friend!
All the best
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, Thanks so much for the support and advise!
I have two more Critical Mass CBD seeds, so this certainly won't be the last diary on this lovely strain. I am super impressed with how well the plant has stayed healthy considering the gardener isn't very experience. :P Testament to the genetics!
I hopefully won't disappoint.
