This is my 4th grow. 3rd Auto. This is a grow based on the organics in coco. This is inspired by Stealth Grows on YouTube. (of course shout out to Mr. Canuck). Stealth Grows is very helpful and willing to share his info and ratios.
There is a lot of hate around this method, but I'm going for it.
I am using 3 gallon fabric pots. I mixed 66 % Canna Coco, ~16% Perlite, ~16% of Vermiculite, and a few cups of earth worm castings. This ratio of mediums was made up by me. My idea was that I want the medium to hold water better for the ogranic grow. I guess we will see if this works :).
The idea for ogranic Dr Earth (also Down to Earth, or Gaia Green) is to mix the fertilizer into the medium. Then top dress every 3 weeks. I plan on only water with PH water. I also intend to use Recharge 1x or 2x a week.
For Dr Earth, I did these ratios:
I need to do 2 TBS of Dr Earth per gallon. For my 3 gallon pot, I need 6 TBS total of Dr Earth. For my initial mix I used these per 1 3 gallon pot:
4 TBS of Dr Earth Veg (4-6-3)
2 TBS of Dr Earth Flower (3-9-4)
Stealth Grows talked about in his videos that this was used by him and it had enough calcium in in, so trying this way!
The seeds were put directly into the medium on Saturday, Jan 2. I watered them with a spray bottle about 2x a day to keep the medium wet. They were covered with a clear cup. One popped by Monday night, by Tuesday morning the other 2 had popped. I left them under the clear cup for 3-4 days as they reached the top, I took the covers off.
I ran the light lower, at about 4000 - 5000 Lux at the level. The lights were turned down low, hung about 3 feet up. I was trying to get the plants to stretch just a little bit. In my past grows, I've had very short and bushy plants, hard to train. I know these are stretching a bit, but that is my goal to get a bit more spacing.
I'm going to water with PH of 6.5. This is a concern I have, let's see how PH 6.5 works.
