I started this grow with a Seedsman NL Auto freebie, but the paper towel germination didn’t work so well. So I took a NL Freebie from RQS and put it directly into the medium and sprayed it with tap water and put a dome above the area. I used the 2 pc Kingbrite 240W LED but I figured that running both panels is a bit too much light for just one plant, so I unplugged the second panel. This caused the temperatures in the grow area to sometimes go down to around 18 degrees Celsius. It took 5 days for the seedling to show up. After that I hung a hair dryer into the room and let it run for 30 minutes every 6 hours. Now I bought a little heater and got the temperature stable at 25 Celsius. A humidifier is at about 60%. I’m still trying to dial in the right lighting. I had the panel at 30cm above the seedling, dimmed down to 25%, some guy at Reddit said he does it this way: Hanging the LED panel 90cm above the seedling, dimmed to 50%. I just changed it to this setup and so far it looks good. The low temperatures at the beginning might have stunted it a bit, but I think this little guy will keep on growing now. Any advice for the lights or something else is welcome. This is the first time germinating in that room and doing just coco and perlite. Last 2 plants also had some hummus in the medium. I’ll add a picture of the seedling later. Copyright of this weeks picture is with Royal Queen Seeds

The light still is 90cm above the plant and switched to full power. Looks like she likes it. After being stunted due to low temperatures, she keeps growing everyday. I started pointing a PC fan on her, which interferes the rH level at some point, because the room is not fully closed. It’s DIY and some sort of low budget, but I think it works. When she gets bigger, I’ll turn on the rotating fan to help her getting strong. I’ll start feeding with the next watering. BioBizz grow Nutes at 1ml/l water.

There haven’t been any mentionable things about her the last few weeks. She’s growing 9 fingered leaves, so I think she’s pretty healthy. Some windburn on some of the leaves but nothing to worry about. I turned off the humidifier because it went out of water and she responded well to the 35% rH left so I can save the money on the power consumption. I started feeding as shown in the BioBizz feeding chart for Coco and it looks like she likes it. I’ll keep the diary updated from time to time. Feel free to keep following and drop comments. Thank you

Week 7 started. She’s still growing and did not show any signs of sex yet. I already read about RQS NL lasting way longer than other autoflowering plants. Nonetheless I changed the lightcycle to 12/12, hoping that she will start flowering now. Despite those information, she’s growing like crazy and looks pretty healthy to me. Feel free to comment. Should I defoliate? Should I take of the lower nodes? Any suggestion is much appreciated. Thank you.

HERE SHE GOES! One week after changing the lightcycle to 12/12, the first signs of sex are showing. I’d love to know if she would also have shown her sex with 18/6. This is the second grow and the 3 plants of the first grow showed their automatic genes after about 2-3 weeks, as expected. Nonetheless it’s time to be happy and keep the lady in a good mood for the next few weeks. The only thing, I’m not sure about, is to pluck off those little new growing nodes on the bottom of the plant. I think they take nutrients out of the plant That could be used in the upper nodes. Wish me luck that she will stretch and grow some decent buds.

So she’s in the middle of week 9 now and as you can see she’s starting to grow some decent flowers. I had to plug some dead leaves and took off the lowest new growth to let her put her energy into the tops. I hope that this didn’t stress her to much and that she doesn’t grow into a hermaphrodite. But we’ll see. I’m anxious to see how much longer she will take. She has no smell so far. But I read that NL is known for the smelling less than other strains. I’m keeping it up and I’ll keep you guys updated. Thanks for commenting and following my grow.

Do you guys think that she has received too much nitrogen? The leaves are pretty dark green and shiny...

Dark green, shiny leaves are a sure sign of nitrogen toxicity, the solution is to reduce the nitrogen your plant is getting. If you are feeding extra nutrients, cut down that amount. If you are in the flowering/budding stage, make sure you’re using a formula that’s specifically meant for flowering, or else it could have too much nitrogen. If you are not feeding extra nutrients, you may have “hot” soil that has been giving your plants extra nutrients. In that case, flush your plants with filtered, pH’ed water to help clear out the extra nitrogen.

She started showing some sugar. I took down the grow nutrients because I thought that a nitrogen toxicity is about to start. I followed the BioBizz schedule but i forgot that week 9 of the Chart was not comparable to week 9 of my grow. So far it seems that this didn’t hurt her flowering process. I’m still sort of impressed of the fact that I managed to get her this far. I took off some dead leaves and some of the lowest nodes and she didn’t grow into hermaphrodite. Now let’s see how much time she’ll need to gain some weight. Thanks for following, liking and commenting on my grow.

So I finally decided to defoliate her a bit during the first 2 weeks of flower. In my opinion she took it like a champ and bounced back very well. I hope she bulks up some more in the next weeks. Maybe she’ll crack the 100gr dry weight mark. This would be pretty cool. What do you guys think? Any estimations?

So now week 15 is nearly over and she’s still not showing much amber trichomes. I’m thinking about chopping her down anyway. It’s hard to decide. I’d love to read your opinions.

I finally cut her down because of some different reasons. She had a pretty bad problem that I couldn’t get rid of because I ran out of calibration solution for my ph pen and the new bottles did not arrive in time. Also I bought an automated watering system and the next seed already germinated. I don’t think I would have had a chance to help her anymore. There wasn’t enough time left. She already showed some amber trichomes so I’m not sad about it at all. I don’t think it’s harvest early. Wet weight with stems and leaves still on is unbelievable 1043 grams. Now it’s time for two different ways of drying: - Bud washing + Low and slow - Normal hang dry I want to compare both ways regarding the Terpene profiles. I hope you guys enjoyed the diary even though I didn’t give a weekly update. Thanks for checking by, commenting and liking.
