Another solid week in the books, and the last one UKBS 2 will spend in the tent. Today I intended to start hardening the selected plants that will go outside, but when watering UKBS 2 I found it was growing roots out the bottom of the pot and into it's drain tray. So, I had to replant it into the 15gal and will be taking it in and out of the back door until the weather's nice enough overnight to just leave it out. The Carl plant I had taken out to harden was very pissed off with me for doing so, and perked up near-immediately when I took it back in. It's too bad it doesn't like the outside as it's going to be spending a good amount of time there. I treated with diatomaceous earth in an attempt to not bring any unwanted insects into the tent. Both UKBS 2 and Carl 2 will be going in and out every day for approximately the next month while temperatures improve. Inside the tent, UKBS 1 seems very happy to finally have some light. UKBS 2 was very large and encroaching inside there, and blocked nearly all of its light. More updates will come throughout the week, as always. -4/17/2021 - Noticed a small hole at the main stem near the top node on UKBS 2. Dusted with diatomaceous a little bit just in case, will keep a very close eye on it. Hoping it's not a caterpillar or stem borer, and just a breakage. -4/20/2021 - Happy 4/20! UKBS 2 is loving the window spot, and life is good. Thanks for swingin by.

Grow Questions

The main stem on one of my plants split due to overly intensive LST a few days back, I taped it up and expected it to heal normally like it usually does. Instead; this brown-tan color appeared on the nodes directly above the split. Any Ideas how I solve this issue, or what it is?

Covering/repairing the split with tape can encourage mould/fungus to attack and it is best to leave the wound/split uncovered while the plant repairs itself. It should be ok, the lack of green colour is most likely due to being covered with the tape and the chlorophyll in that area "dying". Leave the split in the open air and your plant will recover soon enough, but don't ever cover any wounds in the future with tape again, just leave it be, just like in nature. The fact that the application of tape has worked for you in the past is pure luck, tape will cause an overly moist area that mould or fungus love. Hopefully the brown area is not mould, but if it is, it should die now that the wound is in dry air. If you are really concerned with splits in the future, using rubber covered wire to wrap the area in lose spirals is far better, as it allows air exchange and a dry area around the wound. In fact, using wire and a splint of some sort can repair a stem to full health, whereby there is a "scar", but the plant can support the branch/stem that was previously broken and return it to being fully functional and self supporting of any weighty flowers further down the track. Hope this helps, ...... Organoman.

@GYOweed, No, I've only barely started growing. The clones I took were taken to try and preserve the insane bagseed genetics of UKBS 2
