Quexos 1. This will be the second time I've grown this strain. The last time it was one of my favorites. The buds were hefty and sticky. She grew to a reasonable height in a semi-SCroG. This time I will be using Batch 64 coco-based soil instead of a peat-based soil. I'll also have her in a 5g container instead of a 3g container. I still plan on using a SCroG, but I have to re-build it since it was built for a 3x3 tent.
2. I started using the paper towel method to germinate my seeds. I've been having some difficulty getting my seeds to sprout. I narrowed it down to temperature. Now I'm putting the seeds in paper towels and placing them on top of my cable box. I had 100% success rate and all 4 seeds were ready for planting within 2 days. A few of the strains were ready after 1 day.
3. Once the sprouts showed themselves, I've been misting them daily as their watering regimen. I've added a 25% solution of Remo's Veg. Nutes as well.

Quexos 1. Lotsa growth! I'm excited.
2. I've feed once so far. I gave GSC 400ml Filtered Water with a 25% Solution of Remo Veg. Nutes.
3. I've been misting the GSC daily with the same 25% solution.
4. I'll probably fertigate one more time prior to transferring them to her final home.

Quexos 1. What a week! I transplanted the day after I updated my diary. This is the growth for a little over a week.
2. Her final pot is a 7g square canvas pot. I can use the corner as supports if necessary. I also think that growing 4 plants in 7g pots is perfect for my 4x4 tent.
3. I pre-soaked the soil prior to transplanting so there wouldn't be any dead spots in the soil. I've only watered once since I transplanted. 500ml@50% Remo Veg. Solution. I am also foliar feeding daily using the same strength solution.
4. Right now GSC is in a crowded tent. There are 3 autos that are close to being done, the 4 plants that are going in my other photo tent, and 4 sprouts that will be by themselves in this tent once the autos are finished.

Quexos 1. The smoke cleared and I lost a few weeks.
2.. I've moved GSC to her final tent with the stronger QB.
3. I topped her at the 5th node and removed 1st node.
4. In the past I've trained nodes 1-3 horizontally to the edge of the container. This spread out the canopy, but it didn't make it even.
5. This time I allowed nodes 1-2 to grow vertically. I'm training nodes 3-4 horizontally instead. Finally, I'll just keep manually manipulating the top node so it gives the rest of the bud sites time to reach the top. So far its working great! My bottom nodes are already almost to the top and the whole canopy is shaping up nicely.
6. Once everything is in place, I'll defoliate the whole bottom part of the plant and get rid of all the popcorn bud sites. I'll let her grow out for 3 nodes or so then flip to flower. That should give me a nice even flowering canopy and 10 solid primary colas.

Quexos 1. GSC is ready for flowering. All of the bud sites are clear and have an open area to stretch and flower. The under canopy is clean of any sucker branches.
2. I used these LST clips on the top nodes of this plant. They provided a nice amount of LST. They also cleaned up the soil line of the plant, making it easier to water. I don't think I'll be able to use these exclusively for LST, but they are great for starting you training.
3. Now that she is ready for flowering, all I have to do is wait for 3 more nodes to grow on the bud sites. That will give me a nice, long cola once flowering is finished. At the rate she is growing, I expect to fertigate one more time prior to flipping the tent this weekend.

Quexos 1. This has been a long, long week. Lotsa stuff going on so I think I missed a week again.
2. Last week I defoliated heavily and fertigated using veg. nutes. Then, at the end of the week, I defoliated heavily again, fertigated using veg. nutes, then I put the tent in a 24hr. dark period.
3. Right now GSC has been under a 12/12 light schedule since Sunday morning. However there is something wrong with my timer. I noticed the lights have been going on later and later every day. I'm switching out the timer tomorrow.
4. Right now she is stretching like crazy and throwing out pre-flowering stipules from the nodes. I've also noticed the tops are starting to change color slightly. I figure flowers should start appearing within a few days.
5. I switched to flowering nutes. I used to continue with vegetative nutes until the stretch ended, but Remo nutrients are pretty similar between veg. and flower base nutes.

Quexos 1. We are now flowering. She started showing buds a few days ago.
2. Right now she is really messy. There are a lot of popcorn bud sites, tons of fan leaves blocking the light, and just general wildness. I'll probably fertigate one more time then start pruning and defoliating.
3. Once that major chore is finished, I'll just trim off stray fan leaves and let her do her thing.

Quexos 1. We are officially on cruise control.
2. Basically I fertigate about every 4 days. I'll trim fan leaves if they are blocking the light and I'll trim off the popcorn buds at the bottom of the canopy when necessary.
3. This routine will continue for the next 6 weeks. Ho hum.

Quexos 1. We are over half way home!
2. GSC is 6 weeks into a 10 weekish flowering cycle.
3. The buds are starting to change color and texture a it. Trichomes are filling in nicely and spreading across the sugar leaves. She is showing very nice development.
4. Fertigation seems to be on a pretty strict every 4th day, in the morning. If I wait until evening the plant is all droopy and sad.
5. I'll continue fertigation at full strength for another 2 weeks then taper off for a feeding or two prior to just giving her filtered tap water at the very end. I'm guessing another 4 weeks or so until harvest.

Quexos 1. Harvest time is this week! I've checked the trichomes, the buds looks mature and swollen, and the pistils have receded. It is time.
2. I was expecting another 2 weeks before harvest. GSC matured really quickly. Normally I'd water with only filtered water for the last 2-3 weeks, but since this is more of a rush job I've had to change my procedures a bit. I've been watering with filtered water for a week, so I decided to do a type of flush. I watered to run-off, which was about 1.5g. Then I doubled that amount. That should take care of any residual salts or nutrients.
3. I'll harvest this weekend.
The good news is that the buds are dense and frosty. The bad news is there aren't that many of them. I was really suprised when I put my harvest on the scale. The plant was big and bushy. The buds looked fantastic when I took the plant down for trimming. Who knows! If I discount the yield, this was a beautiful plant to grow. I have 1 more seed to grow out. That will determine whether I'll be growing this strain for years to come.

Quexos The grow went exceeding smooth. The 4 plants in the tent were all healthy and happy. GSC was the first one done. It was bud heavy and I had to support the branches. Unfortunately the yield was far less than expected. I harvest 70g, which is about half of what I expected. I've grown this strain before, so I knew how it could produce. The issue might have been heat during the later stages of flowering. We went through a heat wave in early spring and my tent was getting to 90 degrees some days. I tried venting, but I think I stressed the plants and that is why they didn't produce as much. I'm already not growing in the summer due to heat. I'll need to do something more to keep my temps down later in the growing season.
