Watering consisted of spraying the plant and top soil with pH'd, de-chlorinated water once or twice a day when the top soil dried out. Other than that I just tried not to get too involved 😁

This week I started watering 500ml of 6.5 pH'd dechlorinated water every 3 days. On Day 17 I added roughly 0.2ml of Biobizz Fix Mix to the water. Most of it was watered in the soil and a small amount sprayed over her. From now on I'm going to give Fish Mix every watering during veg and will increase the dose as needed. She's started leaning slightly on Day 18 so I'm going to add a garden tie to give her some support. I noticed that Biobizz suggest that 6.2-6.3 is the optimal pH, and my water has been pH'd slightly higher than this. I'm using all Biobizz products so will take their advice and aim for their optimal next watering.

Day 21: I'm giving 500ml of water with about 0.2ml of Fix Mix, pH'd to 6.3 every three days. I might increase the amount of water I'm giving so more of the soil is getting some as right now not all of it is Day 24: Yesterday (Day 23) I gave her 1.5L water with 0.5ml Fish Mix 6.5pH - and she loved it! Hopefully the roots can stretch out a little now as I think I'd been restricting them with how little water I was giving. She's also produced pistils as of Day 23 too Day 25: Started LST

Throughout this week she has got quite bushy and I've not done a very good job with the LST as the main stem is still a couple of inches taller than the next biggest branch. I don't think I'm going to do anymore LST and just see how she goes. I've been trying to tuck the fan leaves behind the branches to give the branches more access to light and it's been semi-successful, but they're still a way behind in height. She could potentially benefit from a defoliation but I'm unsure about doing this and don't know if it's the right time - I'll put a question out to the community and see what people suggest.

Had my first issues this week with what is either nute burn or light burn. After dark on Day 36 when I came to water I noticed some of the leaves at the top of the plant had yellowy browny tips (see Day 38 #2 for a picture of this taken two days after). I usually give a feed on every watering and don't have any run off but this time I just gave water with run off, and when I measured the PPM it was off the scale of my meter - over 1800PPM! So I flushed about 8 litres of pH'd water through the plant until the last bit came out with a reading of 1300PPM, and I've just left it like that. I also raised the light as it was about 4-5 inches from the plant, up to about 7-8 inches. Since the flush and light reposition I haven't noticed any more problems and the she appears to be doing just fine - praying up to the light and still growing. On the next water I'll again just give pH'd water and measure the PPM and take it from there. I don't actually know what the problem is/was though. I think nute burn because the PPM was so high however it was only new growth and upper leaves that were affected and my understanding is that burn works its was up the plant? This makes me think it might be light/heat burn instead, but I'm really not sure. Any ideas?

Please can you help identify the cause of upper leaves and new leaf growth having yellow tips with brown spots? Picture 'Day 38 #2' shows what I'm referring to, and the Week 5 comment has some information which might help in the diagnosis. Thanks!

Hi buddy.... unluckily leaf septoria, also known as leaf septoria, or "yellow spots on the leaves", is a plant disease caused by a certain fungus called septoria lycopersici. This fungus typically winters on dead leaves or common garden weed. Mushroom spores can also settle on gardening tools such as posts and nets, and if conditions are favorable, they begin to develop. Septoria can be extremely harmful to plants. It can cause severe leaf damage and impair the growth of various plant species, including tomatoes, parsley, and of course cannabis as well. As the name suggests, leaf septoria is characterized by brown and yellow spots that develop on the front and back of the leaf. The spots are mostly round in shape, with light or dark brown edges, and more gray in the center. Typically, each spot has dimensions from 1.5 to 6.5mm. Septoria usually affects plants that are just starting their flowering phase. The disease initially appears on the lower located leaves. As the infection spreads, the spots also develop on the top of the plant, involving numerous leaves. Diseased leaves usually turn yellow, then brown, and eventually wither completely. Leaf septoria usually does not spread to fruit. In the case of cannabis, the flowers are not infected. If not taken promptly, the disease can destroy a large number of leaves. This causes severe stress in the plant, and often a disruption of development. As a result, the harvest will be drastically reduced. The risk of leaf septoria is particularly high in areas where the climatic conditions are very humid for long periods. Good luck with your grow mate!!💪🙏

Since the flush last week she has had two more feedings of just 6.5 pH'd water. On the last feed the runoff measured 600PPM at pH 7. On the next watering I'll reintroduce Bio-Grow and Bio-Bloom back into her diet at a PPM of about 900 and pH of 6.1 - 6.2. Going forward I'll keep an eye on the runoff and feed accordingly. Day 45 I tied down some of the branches to help light penetrate down into the plant 😎

I did a light defoliation on Day 49 to help with light penetrating through the plant. I had been tucking the leaves up till then but she just got too bushy for it to be effective anymore. Day 52 I stripped off the lower branches and a couple of the leaves in the hope that the upper buds will get nice and chunky

Early this week I noticed what looks like a calcium and magnesium deficiency. I've given a good hit of calmag on day 58 so see how she goes from there. Also, she smells like shit. The smell is definitely coming from the buds, not the soil or tent or anything else. They smell is like mould. I've got a good air movement, good extraction, humidity is around 40% and temperature between 20-28C. When I touch the stems near buds my fingers are sticky and the smell is a pleasant sweet cannabis smell. From what I've read the buds of some strains can smell bad so I'm hoping it's just that and nothing more sinister. I'm also hoping that this mouldy smell passes and is replaced by the smell we all know and love. I'll keep you updated🤙

How to know when to stop feeding nutrients and start either a passive or active flush? The breeder posts this strain as 8-9 weeks from seed to completion. So going by that I should start now. But what are indicators to start a pre harvest flush?

You still have 3-5 weeks of flowering to go, so keep feeding until about 90-95% of pistils are brown, then give plain water for the last 7-10 days before harvest at around 98% brown pistils. At this stage your plant still needs good nutrition for proper flower growth. Whatever they say on the packets/web site regarding maturation times is generally BS and based (probably) on max hydro and max HID lights and has very little to do with reality and an average home cultivator using (usually) a cheap LED light and growing in a cupboard/tent. Hope this helps,............ Organoman.

I checked the strain, it says 8-9 from seed to harvest indeed, but that's bullshits, 8-9 weeks from flowering to harvest maybe according to your pictures... So my opinion is you should wait until the start of week 10-11 to flush and then harvest around week 12,you'll need a microscope at least x60 zoom if toy want to see the trichomes, it's not necessary but it's helpful

Indications I use to start flush is when mass trichromes are just starting to get cloudy. For me it's been around week 10 or 11 on autos. Then 2 to 3 weeks just ph water. 48 hours darkness prior to cutting. Exact cut time i determine as fade goes. Hope this helps and good luck. You look like you have some time to feed still. Budding strong from picture

I had a second build up of salt in the medium which I had to flush out, then continued feeding. Buds are getting bigger and frostier. The smell is stronger both of cannabis and of the mouldy-ish smell I reported before. Hopefully this smell will improve when the pre-harvest flush in underway!

Day 70: Buds are fattening up nicely. Last feed was Day 67 and I'm checking the trichomes daily to see when I should pre-harvest flush. I had another build up of salt in the medium which I had to flush out in week 9 - the PPM had raised to 1200. The lower fan leaves are yellowing and dying which is normal as far as I understand. What I am unsure about is a lot of the upper leaves are showing a Ca deficiency with little brown spots, this has been getting progressively worse over the last couple weeks. I am giving Calmag in a dose that is suggested for deficiency correction so not sure why it's not improving. Anyone have any ideas? Anyway I think it might be too late in the day to fix but I'm curious to know next time what I might have done wrong, other than allowing the PPM to get so high? Cheers guys Day 73: Kind of feels like I'm limping to the finish at this point. Lots of leaves have brown spots (I think calcium deficiency), others at the top have a purpley brown colour on them which I don't know the reason for. She looks as though she could be healthier. Gave just pH'd water on day 72 and the run off was 500, pH 6.9. Other than that the buds seems to be fattening slowly. The mouldyish smell is still there but mostly hidden behind a lovely sweet smell. Have been checking the trichomes each day and there are now lots of cloudy with a few amber. On Day 76 (17/04) I'll give her a full flush!

Day 77: On Day 75 I flushed 18 litres of pH'd water through the medium. 48hrs later brings us to Day 77 and the fade is crazy, so much so I wonder if I flushed too early and she's gagging for some more nutrients! Either way I based it off the trichomes and could see lots were now cloudy and even some ambers. The last nutrient feed was on Day 68, but gave plain water on Day 72 and the run-off was 500 PPM. I'm hoping she's ready to chop in a week or so 🤞 Day 81: Buds are continuing to fatten up and in the last week she's started really stinking. The AC infinity 4 inch extractor and carbon filter are working perfectly 🙏. She's more yellow than green now and is coming along nicely. I think there's still a week left in her but I can't wait to try her now 😋

Overall very happy. The only issues I experienced were my own mistakes and have definitely learnt a lot for next time: monitor run off and feed when needed, I think I flushed too early, I think I chopped too early, and I think I dry trimmed too early 😆. I just got impatient in the end as the seed to harvest time given by the grower was not accurate for me - though I'm sure this was mostly due to my inexperience and errors along the way. I got 27.3g of good sized dense buds, then 31g of smaller and/or airy buds. I'll be smoking all of it but next time I think I'll be more aggressive with pruning smaller branches to try to swing the ratio in favour of bigger denser buds. I also get an LED for next time as I think that will help improve my results too The bud is smelling and smoking great and it's only had a few days curing so far. I plan to sample each week for the next month or so to see how the bud matures then properly tuck in after that. Thanks for interest and help along the way and I'll be back in a few months when grow #2 begins 👊
