Winter in Canada is cold and unpredictable, I heat my house with wood so finding a consistent temp is challenging. I needed dark/heat/air so I constructed a box to cover the seed. I placed one end just near (not over) a heat register which allowed consistent air movement. after 7 days had a 2cm taproot, used about 500 ml of water.
