Set up grow tent today. Placed seed into soil and cut a quarter of a plastic bottle top and placed over planted seed to create moisture dome. If seedling hasn’t popped after 3 days turn light on to give more energy. Will leave now and check up on it in the next 24 hours 17th Feb.
17th Feb Wed -
Checked on seedling today. No sprout as of yet,19:35, everything seems fine soil is moist and in the dome is moist. If there is any issues it would be the temp is lower than I’d like.
18th/19th Feb Thur - Fri -
Still no sprout on Thursday 18th. Checked soil and it still a bit wet all around, I think I’ve planted the seed a little too deep. Noticed a few gnats.
On day 19th Friday, there is still no sprout so to give it a bit of help I have turned the light on today. Noticed quite a few more gnats so I will try to put some white vinegar and fairy liquid in a bowl to place in tent. Will update over the weekend.
20th Feb Sat -
Finally!!! The seed has finally sprouted, I won’t water this morning but I will check later tonight. Need to keep soil around plant moist but the outer bits of soil I’ll leave dry due to Gnats. Will leave moisture dome on for a day longer until I see leaves form. Very happy! Also repositioned light so it is directly above plant

She is looking good! A lot of growth from yesterday to day gave some more water this morning as she was looking a bit dry. I’m looking to take the dome off tonight as she has started to come out. I’ve turned lamp off for 4 hours to give some rest. One leaf is curling over a little but I’m not too sure why? Will monitor and keep updated. Any advice appreciated!!
Best of luck with your baby! Watch how much you feed her, she’s still very small and can easily get nutrient burn (possibly why the tips are the way they are) 🌱
She does look a bit beaten up! I dont think its the light drop trauma that delayed her growth though xP But as you can see she is also starting to grow, it will probably catch up. To be safe i would check soil's ph, water and runoff, just to be sure :)
Also if you think you are overwatering it, you are probably right, as you can kill a plant easier with too much water than not enough ^^ I wouldnt say it looks too overwatered though, but a plant that small doesnt drink much, so just let top 2-3 cm of soil get bone dry, reallly stick your finger in the dirt, if it comes too dirty usually the soil has enough water, on the other hand if the soil falls from the finger its dry xPP Thats how i do it, you got to really poke it good around the vase feel the overall wetness xP Closer to the plant be more genlte with the poking thing xP Overwatering would slow the growth of a young plant ;) could explain it!
@OneDropOfTHC, No it wasn’t the light drop it was spider mites! 😡 but I’ve got some neem oil now she’s looking miles better!! Well in my opinion 😂 been doing what you’ve said to do and check the soil a few inches in to check if completely dry before watering again! Stay safe!
Yeah dont worry about it. She is fine, on nature they are used to getting squashed for a few seconds. Aslong as th main stem doesnt brake, you are safe, even if it brakes and you manage to secure the wound close with some tape, it will probably live. Last week i dropped a pot on her head completely removing her from soil and bending her, she didnt even notice xP They are incredibly resilient if healthy,
I dont see a need for defoliation. But im with those people that dont defoliate autos. Post up a grow question see other opinions ^^ What i would do right know to you plant is apply an anchor to the base and bend the top stem down arching your plant and making those side shoots take some sun and start developing alongside with the main stem, all at the same weight. But thats a kind of training, u might just want to let her grow. but right now seems the perfect time to bend the top down without hurting it. If you need any help on how to do this just wisp me, ill draw you a picture.
