Very excited about this grow. First time fooling around with coco. I'll be posting updates as I go and I am always open to constructive suggestions and comments! These 2 little ladies just popped over the last couple of days. Fastbuds Green Crack (3/14) & Gorilla Glue (3/15).🌱 5 gallon mesh grow bags are filled with a 50/50 mix of Fox Farm's Coco Loco & Mother Earth's Coco + Perlite (70/30). A bit of worm castings and some extra perlite was also added. They'll be fed on the Full Tilt schedule with FloraFlex nutrients and MBX Grow's microbes. I plan on introducing Mammoth P microbes a bit later. New medium ✔️ New strains ✔️ New nutes ✔️ Let's do this.

03/23/2021 - Start of week 2. I'm expecting faster growth this week as it appears the ladies have finally judged that their large container and environment is hospitable as they are doing well. Once I started pumping those nutes through them, they have noticeably responded positively as well. Something that I didn't mention earlier is that I use water from my tap which is from a well. Its PPM is consistently a 0.3 EC (which is perfect for FloraFlex's (FF) recommended starting EC w/their nutes) and a pH of 7.2. That's not too bad for well water. I know my water is fairly rich in Ca and Mg, but I still supplement a little of both since I'm in coco, particularly for this first time. This week the ladies will follow week 2 the FloraFlex Full Tilt schedule at 2 grams each of V1 & V2. I will also implement FloraFlex's foliar spray once per week. Other than the FF and General Organics CaMg+. I use microbes from MBX Grow that I supplement with Fox Farm's Bush Doctor Microbe Brew. 👍

03/29/21 - Week 3 begins. -- For ease and simplicity, I have begun counting days for both plants from when the second one popped (3/15) since it was just a day apart. -- Both girls began Week 3 with a FIMming. This was my first attempt at this technique. -- Also applied some minor, selective defoliation. -- This week I began FloraFlex's very aggressive 'No Cal-mag' Full Tilt feeding schedule. -- 4 grams each of V1 & V2. That's a big EC for sure (2.4). Let's see how the ladies react. -- FloraFlex Veg Foliar spray applied 1-2 times per week during lights out. -- The girls are fed 2/day. The medium is always 90-100% saturated (which is why I went w/the 5 gallon pots). -- The pot can usually only take about 12-16 oz of solution before run-off begins. -- I always feed to run-off to remove salts and periodically check its pH. -- Temps and RH have been a little easier to manage during this time of year. -- Still currently using microbes from MBX Grow as well as Fox Farm's Bush Doctor Microbe Brew. -- I do sometimes wonder about their efficacy in a high-fertigation, coco-based environment though. 04/02/21 -- The ladies underwent a second FIMming on 04/01. Later that night even more growth occurred. -- Thus far these girls can take anything it seems. They're quite resilient. All Fastbuds strains I've grown have been so. -- Most of my attention at this stage is on leaf tucking to expose bud sites. -- Both plants are responding very well to the increased nutes. FloraFlex is pretty badass. -- This week I have added no extra Cal-Mag so far. No issues to report. -- I believe I am nixing the MBX Grow microbes for this grow. I'm using Recharge and its granular consistency for ease of use. -- I have been varying my pH between 5.8 and 6.3 and it seems to be working out well. -- FloraFlex is pH balanced and says you don't need to, but I do anyway. -- Run off pH is always in that sweet spot of 2 points higher that my input. 04/04/21 -- I've been getting aggressive with these girls and they're responding well. -- Both were FIM'd twice. Explosive growth followed. -- A little super-cropping here and there and some temporary LST also applied. Very little defoliation so far. -- Time to back off a bit on the training and let them do their thing. 🌱 -- FloraFlex, Recharge and Mammoth P is all I am feeding them moving forward w/the exception of an occasional CaMg boost. -- This addition of extra cal-mag is just for my own peace of mind. I doubt these nutes require it. -- I've returned to the standard Full Tilt feeding schedule. -- I started to notice a very slight, yet noticeable tip burn on a few leaves. -- I fertigate twice per day. I'm concerned that's not enough to maintain an adequate nutrient/water ratio and cause burning. -- Autos probably don't need such large doses anyway. I'll push photos a bit harder. -- Standard schedule calls for 3 grams of each part for the upcoming 4th week. -- Veg foliar spray applied once per week during lights out.

04/08/21 Week 4 (started 04/05) -- The ladies are doing well. They are nice and bushy and continuing to gain size. -- Toward the end of Week 3 I did a serious defoliation on both from which they are now recovering. -- They are being fed 3 grams each of FloraFlex V1 & V2 (Week 4 of Full Tilt schedule). -- I occasionally top dress with Recharge and 'water' it in when I feed to keep microbe population as high as possible. -- I also have introduced Mammoth P microbes to enhance phosphorous uptake in preparation for flower. -- No serious training planned for here on out, but will assess daily. -- Still NOT adding additional cal-mag to feedings. FloraFlex seems to provide all it needs. -- Feedings are 2/day. Once in the am before work and again that night. -- The morning feeding is enough for just a few drops of run-off if any at all. The evening feeding given is enough for significant run-off (~15-20%). We want NO issues w/salt build up! -- This also keeps the root zone's pH and EC consistent and controlled. -- I usually pH at 6.0 although I will sometimes bounce around between 5.7 and 6.3. -- I noticed pistil hairs starting to show on the Gorilla Glue this morning. None seen on the Green Crack. I will begin the first week of flower next week.

Week 5 - Start of Flower (04/12/21) 04/13/21: -- The Gorilla Glue has responded well to my aggressive FIMming and super-cropping. Tops are everywhere. -- The Green Crack was MUCH slower to do so. It was stalled for a few days, but has since began to kick it into gear. -- I have been waiting to begin bloom nutes. Both plants still receiving FloraFlex V1 & V2 at 3 grams each. -- I will begin B1 and B2 once I see a little more advancement into flower. -- Fertigation remains at 2x day. Minor run-off in morning. Heavier in the evening. -- pH continues to be administered in the 6.0 range. -- FloraFlex says that as long as the pH is between 5.8-6.3, the nutes will take care of the rest as far as pH balancing. -- To date, I have not had ANY noticed deficiencies and I've gotten pretty aggressive with this stuff at times. -- As far as salt-based nutrients go, No reason for me to even consider another. This stuff is pretty amazing. 💪 -- Ladies currently receiving only FloraFlex V1 & V2 and Mammoth P microbes each feeding. I top-dress Recharge once per week and water in at feedings.
