I'd like to give a thumbs up to the individual who launched and administered this contest, for one reason in particular — allowing entrants to upload an image directly rather than having them select one from a diary.
Of course, it makes sense for the monthly photo contests to have entrants select images from their diaries, but for other kinds of contests, a direct upload is preferable. The meme contests, for example, are better suited to the direct-upload approach in my opinion.

FYI - Attached is the response I received from @Elufah. So, this was NOT a contest. This was just a random prize draw. @Elufah - Next time please let people know up front so they don’t waste so much time and effort on their entry! Maybe you would have gotten more entries, not had to extend the deadline, and people wouldn’t feel slighted. In addition, there was not a bonus prize with my shipment! Please don’t post “This is a surprise for everyone — a little Thanksgiving gift." When not true. This was extra salt in my wound after not receiving the expected UAP1500.
@GrowDiaries – Please hold sponsors to a higher standard. No fake contests! If we are going to be shills; we deserve better!
Thanks again @Elufah for the prize. No bad vibes. Let’s just make it better for next time. I’ll be watching and reporting.

I won 3rd place, WHOO-HOO! I just received the UAP1200 this evening. I'm slightly bummed as I was expecting to receive the UAP1500 for 3rd place. Logically the top 5 should receive the better prize, right? Regardless, I REALLY DO APPRECIATE getting a prize! I will put it to work immediately, and give my honest feedback here in my first GD diary.
