Roots and Cube Size

How long can the seedlings stay in the in the transplant cubes for? The roots are already showing but I do not want to move them into the NFT's until I know what sex they are. Will the cube size limit the speed of growth?

You can keep them alive in the cubes for as long as you want but the growth will probably be limited and its harder to control. The sex starts to show only if veggerd long enough or switched to flowering and even 12-12 from seed will take few weeks and then you would have to reveg those flowering plants etc. I'm not sure what would be the best choice in this. Maybe put them all in the NFT and if there happens to be males just remove them and take your losses or veg little bit longer to really fill the whole tent and then couple males wont reduce your yields that much maybe?

Hey gardener! I don't think the size of the cubes is important in my opinion as long as the roots don't see light and have nutrients, it should be fine. After that, it's true that if your cubes are really big, the roots will grow more inside and see less light, and they'll also dry out slower than the small cubes, but it's the same for any small pots of soil. Good luck to you!

Hey you can leave it in, but it will take some time until you recognize the gender :-) It will take a while, but you have a beautiful plant 😍🙏🏻
