I use Rhino Skin as my Silica source of food. Manufacturer says should be used during flowering. Any reason not using during veg? In my case I use tapped water w/24h period before watering and I know for a fact there is almost 0 Silica in those water. What would you do? 🤔

You should use it through vegetative phase and first weeks of flowering. It can be a good idea to drop the strenght of the silica to 65% of the full dose at around halfway of flowering. For the last 2-3 weeks, there is no need/ real practical use for silica additives. Also, when adding to a bigger tank: 1) mix your silica with 3-4 litres (1 us gal) of water 2) add all the other nutrients and whatnots to tank, then 3) add the water-silica mix slowly while mixing (yeah, you should spend hours here, I don't, got shits to do)

Hi! I cant find any reason why you couldn't use this from seed to harvest. When you look at the material safety data sheet (https://www.onestopgrowshop.co.uk/spree/product_files/11238/original/Rhino_Skin.pdf?1573638854) it says that Rhino Skin contains Silicate acid and potassium silicate and both pretty low doses. I use potassium silicate from seed to harvest and at least "Bio Nova - Silution" is silicic acid and can be used from seed to harvest so why they two combined could not? I don't know the whole AN lines but it might be that some of the veg nutes has enough silicate but bloom nutes don't and thats why this instruction is in the bottle?

I use Rhino skin as well, but keep it with the "only flowering".. I know of people that use it from start to finish and they have great results (also on the larger scale). Here's a great article about silica and what it does exactly: https://medteknutrients.com.au/silicon-in-hydroponics/ don't forget to put it into the water first, and then leave it for about an hour (at least half) before adding other nutrients, so it can properly dissolve and doesn't "fight" with the other nutrients and make it (or them) unavailable.
