Experimenting with DWC in a 4x4 grow tent .how do I keep temperature cool without using the chiller?

what you can do is wrap a dark towel around your res. this will help keep the light out and will help keep the water colder, around 66degrees f. that is a cheap way, or you can buy supplements like hydro guard, kelp, ect. these add on do work, but they are not 100% fool proof, they do help. also make sure you cover your air tubes or use the darker one not the clear. hope that helps you.

I agree with the other grower, hydroguard protects against problems developing from a warm tank. My res is always at 68°F and my canopy is usually at 78°F. The only thing I need to pull this off was to place my air pump by the vent. Fresh, cooler air is drawn in through the vent and the air pump then pumps it into my res, keeping the res cool. Depends on your setup and the air temp outside of your grow room, but has been super effective for me. I still use hydroguard though.

“hydroguard” from botanicare is your solution. It’s a little pricey but will solve your issue. I was planning on giving dwc a shot next run
