off topic - Last day I answered someone's question about identifying sex of their plant, it was a male but everyone jumped in and said "it is too early to tell" but for a male,it wasn't early. There was obviously male flowers coming. That plant will turn out male in a week,I'm following their diary to see the result.I'm talking about someone else, don't worry. on topic - But here, your plant is the good example of the line "it is too early to tell" . It simply has no signs for its gender, yet. If it is 3 weeks into flowering, it most likely will be a female. Males show up earlier than females, keep this in mind.Although this plant has no clear signs, being 3 weeks into flowering is a good thing. Growers who only grow feminized commercial plants won't know this...

There is no clear indication on these pictures. But you see why hairs from the caylex? If so it's most likely a lady. đŸ€˜đŸ˜€

The part you seem to be focussing on are known as "stipules" and not involved in any way with sex or sex determination and both male and female plants have these. At this stage, this plant does not seem to have any clues as to which sex it will be, just yet. Have a look at my diary "Holy Mackerel" for pictures of both baby male and baby female flowers. These pictures will give you an idea as to what to look for. Male flowers look a bit like caper berries, while female primordia/baby flowers will have a pair of white pistils/hairs protruding out of a small calyx/pod that will grow very near the stipules. Hope this helps,.... Organoman.
