Smokeable?

JTrim
JTrimstarted grow question 4 years ago
Will I be able to smoke this? The buds and overall plant seem like something different. It has plenty of trichomes but looking closely it’s mostly small sugar leaves and small balls of buds. Perhaps it will be smokeable but super harsh?

That's one serious mutant. Its just the genetics.Less material mostly means a bigger concentration of trichomes.Looks good to me.It looks like the Dr Grinspoon strain.Smoke it and I'd be most surprised if its not a quality smoke.Let us all know if you have time.Dr Grinspoon,Barneys Farm Seeds. The famous Cannabis Activist.

Wow you guys are awesome. So glad I asked. It’s good to know it’s strange but not a loss. I think it’s time to harvest in a day or two and I’ll need to find a place to dry. Seems like it may dry quick being thin and airy like this? I may leave all the sugar leaves on and only clip the big ones after it dries for a few days I hope that works. Again. Thank you all

It will be completely smokeable, but smoking the stems will make it harsh. Rather than being a result of ruderalis genes, I would suggest this plant has taken extreme sativa expression from the Thai genetics in the blue berry strain. This is borne out by the fact this plant resembles "Dr, Grinspoon" a 100% sativa from Barneys Farm, which is a cross between a Panamanian sativa and a Thailand sativa. Hope this helps,........ Yes they are smokable. It's this phenotype you have, much like Dr. Grinspoon from Barney's Farm seeds. You should really check out this plant much like yours. Look up a grower by the name of totem. He won grower of the year last year for Dr. Grinspoon from Barney's farm last year. It's the most delicious and most difficult plant to grow. It even bleeds blood but taste like jolly ranchers. By the way I can't help but notice you have leaf tip burn and clawing all over your plant. This is a sure sign of nutrient lock out/ nutrient burn or nitrogen toxicity. You maybe wondering, " well Michael I have only given it bud juice with potassium and phosphorus. How do I have nitrogen toxicity?" The answer is, your plants store nutrients in the bottom leaves. Nitrogen potassium and phosphorus as well as magnesium are all mobile nutrients. They are stored in the cells within the oldest most lower growth on your plant. So once they take in too much of one nutrient or the other like phosphorus and potassium. Their cell walls bulge out and can't take anymore. That's when nutrient lockout takes hold and the first signs of this is yellowing at the tips of the leaves followed by clawing. It's a delicate balance trying to give your plant enough nutrients in Pre flower stretch. Into early Bud stages. The best time to feed Bud juice is only during the first four to five weeks of flower. This is especially important when growing in soil. Which retains nutrients for much longer then Coco or Hydroponics. So from week five or six forward. You shouldn't give your plant anything more than water. Likewise you should only give your plant extra phosphorus for the first two weeks of flowering. Then two doses of bud juice. The happiest plants are hungry plants. Feed only as needed. Little by little and watch the lower leaves should only be a bit more green than the rest during the entire grow. It's not a bad thing if you feed only a little until you see slight nutrient deficiencies. Knowing what they are and how to treat them is key. So to answer your question. Your in lock out I'm afraid it's already too late.

Looks like it's showing the ruderalis traits of your strain. You can see wild ruderalis plants look like that. Looks frosty might get you cooked give it a shot.

Deeunit’s mention of Dr Grinspoon is very interesting. The pics I’ve found online sure look a lot like it and it’s very rare. Besides the fact that I ordered a blueberry auto and this doesn’t look like it, I can’t find anywhere that Dr Grinspoon has an auto flower variant and my plants is very short and def an auto flower. Got me wondering what the next blueberry seed will look like. I will investigate more on this strain.

hey JT, looks like you got some unstable genetics, usually you cant smoke it, i mean it doesnt do anything, but sometimes it does, check your trichomes. I hope it's smokable but usually not. Sorry to say. Hope this helps ! 🚀
