Those big leaves are making big energy for your plant to grow her biggest and best flowers. Remove them and your plant will struggle to make enough energy for best flower growth. No plant ever gets rid of healthy green leaves for no reason or benefit. Your plant is "designed" to grow her biggest and best flowers, getting rid of perfectly healthy green leaves is not part of this process. My advice is to leave the leaves to do their job of producing energy for your plant to grow her biggest and best flowers. The old leaves are also a source of ready made vital growth elements, such as carbs, sugars, amino acids etc that she will draw upon during flowering, as it is far more efficient for her to "recycle" the previously made and stored elements from the older leaves, rather than grow flowers AND make these elements from new. This is why the older leaves will go yellow (the fade) on otherwise healthy and well fed plants during flowering. So not only does defoliation reduce your plants capacity to produce energy, it also robs her of an important resource of carefully made and cleverly stored vital elements that she needs to grow her biggest and best flowers. Just remember, - maximum amount of healthy green leaves = maximum energy production = maximum growth and maximum health. Hope this helps,......... Organoman.

It is absolutely OK to trim these leaves off your plant once they begin to pale and yellow, especially the bigger leaves which are older. The only caveat here is to make sure you do not remove too many leaves each day.
