defoliate fan leaves ??

day 19 auto forbidden runtz! My main 2 fan leaves are massive now and taking up lots of room as she's really getting fat and bushy with lst training so question is will it hurt to defoliate them ??? shes got plenty of other vegetation n is really looking good n healthy ??

They would not grow them if they didn't need them. I would only defoliate if I couldn't tuck anymore. I only defoliate for humidity and late flower bud sites.

It could hurt but probably won't hurt but in your situation there's no need to remove any leaves, yet. They're not blocking anything, nor is it bushy in the slightest

Those big fat fan leaves that are making the largest percentage of energy and which has led to all this fat bushy growth and health, should in no way be removed, your plant needs them to make the energy for her to grow her fastest and biggest, especially with auto flowers. Removing them will just reduce the amount of energy produced, leading to slower and potentially smaller growth too. Jus remember - Maximum amount of healthy green leaves = maximum energy production = maximum growth. I have been growing for 35+ years and have never seen a plant that gets rid of their perfectly healthy, green, energy producing leaves for no reason or benefit, ever! Your plant "knows" how to grow her biggest and fastest. Getting rid of perfectly healthy leaves is not part of that process. Hope this helps,............ Organoman.
