Use a self watering system using braided string and jars of water. or water bottles with special tops u flip upside down in the medium. Can find them at greenhouse or specialty plant stores. letting it sit in water will water log your roots. waterlogged root equal rot and maybe death.
also could give them a really good soak and keep temps low so it wont evaporate so fast.
