So I want to keep lollipoping these girls for 2 reasons 1) Keep pest/mildew issues down 2) grow some big dank nugz. Question: how high is too high to lollipop? Given these girls are already short, should I be a few nodes down from each top? Send mr your recommendation 😁

Personally I would do some light defoliating and leaf tucking while in Veg and save the lolly popping for after you flip her into bloom and she stretches a bit. Only after she sets some bud sites would I strip the lower 1/3 of the plant of any fan leaves and micro buds sites that will never get enough light to amount to any thing. If you still have a few lower buds sites that don't look promising you can always nip them off up to mid bloom. Determining how much to lolly pop depends on the vigor of the plant since growing from seed each one is basically unique. I would still concentrate on shaping your plant until you are in bloom. Obviously if your considering lolly popping your more interested in the quality of the bud not the quantity which is the difference between a connoisseur of fine cannabis and a novice grower. Hope this helps.👍

I'd say 1/3. Tip to Lollipopping Cannabis for the Higher Yields I have had the best results lollipopping cannabis right before the switch to the flowering stage. Growers often don't need to lollipop in the vegetative stage unless you haven't trained your plant and it's gotten very tall or out of control. Growers call the technique "lollipopping" because you're making the bottom bare like a lollipop stick 🙂 But keep in mind that removing too many bud sites can definitely hurt your yields! Remove all the leaves below the line on these marijuana plants (lollipop them) This grower stripped all the buds sites from the bottom of the plant while lollipopping, resulting in shortened colas. I've done this, too! His yield would have been bigger if he'd allowed those bud sites to continue further down on each stem! Example of a cannabis plant that was lollipopped two heavily before the switch to the flowering stage, resulting in reduced yields To prevent the problem with the plant above, avoid removing or damaging future bud sites whenever defoliating. It's easy to accidentally damage bud sites when they're just tiny pre-flowers like this one, so be extra careful when removing leaves! Be careful not to accidentally remove bud sites when defoliating a cannabis plant in the flowering stage Example of removing a cannabis leaf - when defoliating, always avoid damaging the growth tip and the bud site! Experiment with different amounts of lollipopping to see what's best for you! However, keep in mind… CFLs and fluorescent grow lights don't penetrate as deeply as more powerful lights. As a result, it makes a lot of sense to lollipop plants that have gotten taller than the lights can reach HPS, LEC and LED grow lights all penetrate much more deeply into the canopy. As a result, you do not need to lollipop as much, because more of the bottom will be getting direct access to light. You don't want to remove growth that is getting light as it will turn into buds! Learn my exact technique from seed to harvest on how to train, defoliate and lollipop!
