What’s a good quality PH pen for quick readings on my water before feedings? I’ve heard good things about the Bluelabs pen, something of good quality, not that garbage on amazon that is lucky if it even arrives working properly. Small scale so not interested in industrial equip.

https://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-MW102-PH-Temperature-Meter/dp/B001DTNDME/ref=asc_df_B001DTNDME?tag=bngsmtphsnus-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80745502739822&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584345029709261&psc=1 Milwaukee MW-102 I like that I can drop the sensor in the water and it comes with a nice sealed cap so the probe doesn't dry out. I replaced my prob after 1 year because I broke it cleaning it, but it stays fairly accurate. I calibrate once every month or two.

Blue Lab is apparently the Gold Standard - I use Apera which I like. The biggest key to keeping them going is to always store the pen in the KCL liquid and to calibrate it often... if you use it daily, calibrate once a week at least... But if you don't store the pen in the KCL liquid, the sensor will dry out and become useless quickly... Good luck! A pH pen has made all the difference in my grows!

Bluelab is the one i went for many years ago and was recommending to my all friends, BUT Most of pens with price 50+£ will be good. Main thing how much maintaining costs and its a must for good grow, any pen needs calibration regularly and KCI solution to protect probe weekly. Never drop them, never shake them heavily ... Good luck. P.s. have aquarium drops with small range for double protection, on days when you calibrated pen, double check with aquarium drops, if both shows same - all good. If any difference - pen is fucked. Drops never lies .. I used that, but should be many .. growdiaries.com/static/post/photo/20573/6219523_grow-journal-by-asnoriuseedsmanalaskan-diesel-auto.jpg

Bluelab or Hanna instruments are some good ones - there are more too but any pH pen is also just as accurate as its calibration, so you need to store it, clean it and calibrate it appropriately to keep it accurate.
