How to hydro

When growing hydro do you: A) throw the remaining water away, rinse the bucket and add a fresh batch of balanced nutrient water Or B) top up the existing bucket with a new batch of water, mixing old with new- all the same nutrient amounts of course.

All depends how you want to grow. some people do both others don't. If you having multiple issues I would suggest a new batch till it can be stabilized. If you need any other help reach out via DM "Direct Mailbox" its the little paper airplane logo/tab on the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Cheers,

Measure every day and adjust pH and EC every day. Then do a full clean with fresh water and nutrients once a week. Because the plant will leave more from the nutrients that she doesn't need that much compare to the one that she is craving for that time. So to avoid a high EC on nutrients that she doesn't need as much and provide her with the ones that she is using the most do a clean once a week.

I will definitely do a complete bucket change after the first week in DWC... I find the clay pebbles, as I top water during that week, put a lot of sand in the bucket even though I've thoroughly rinsed them before using. Thereafter, it becomes a judgement call - if I have to raise the EC (or lower it), I might withdraw 1 gallon of water and fiddle with that and put it back in... or if the pH is not staying stable I'll do the same thing... Plants don't usually end up drinking a whole lot until they get to pre-flower/flower stage so just adding a bit of adjusted nutes to top off is generally fine but EC requirements change week to week and I often find it easier just to do a complete bucket change. When they start going through the water heavily, I will then definitely start changing out the entire bucket once a week... ALWAYS clean your bucket or reservoir out with a good dose of hydrogen peroxide to ensure the bucket is clean and free of anything harmful... Good luck!

I always left my solution for about 7-10 days if water starts to lower I replace with fresh water nothing added and a week or so later I dump all the buckets 5 5gal buckets and add new solution to the mix but I ALWAYS kept the spare water for the change in the same room that way the temperature is exactly the same everytime I do it

I do both. My current setup takes 30L of water, So I will do a 30L batch to fill it. Then I will create a 15L batch and top with that, Once the first is done I do a second 15L batch and top with that. Then I will do a water change. Only time you "need" to do a water change is if your PH is going wonky. If your PH is stable then you should have no issues. Happy Growing

You can do both.. but generally you’ll want to do option A every week to couple weeks depending on how well you maintain your res.. Some ppl say to change reservoir completely every one week but that’s a waste IMO - as long as you can keep things in check - just top it off and do a total change every 2 weeks maybe if you’re a beginner. I used to do weekly at first cuz a lot of sites say to but now when I run my DWC I change usually once in Veg and twice in flower. Every 4 weeks or so basically. You can tell if the res is getting bad bacteria built up or other issues.. running some beneficial supplements helps keep this in check too.
