2 different strains here, unknown on the 1st pic. Sweet afghani in the 2nd. The unknown is a lot more leaf dense in the buds. It's always been a darker green. Also no huge top cola. Is this leaf density genetics or from too much N? Should I trim out some bud leaves? Seems lik

There is cerain technique when you trim flower for bigger buds, but not buds ;))) Bud budding i think its called. Would not touch even one leaf from it, you create open wound , stupid by my view. All ways to infections or diseases would be open in biggest part of final weight. Never would i risk. I never touch, even dont breathe on them and still get bud rot every year ....

@AsNoriu yeah that's good advice. It's supposed to cool off and rain next week and I got 2-3 weeks to go. I always get hit with some bud rot due to weather.

I would confirm to AsNoriu comment. I was cut them once and it rot or mold inside (buds was covering it). Too much RH at that time.

I normally don't defoliate much, just cleanup from bottom up. I might experiment on a couple buds and see what happens.

Could be genetics, but could excessive Nitrogen too. Nothing else. You was right.

It is likely genetics. But you need to consider, every new leaf in a new node, which creates another bud sight. Just a little more trimming is all.

Seems like they are crowding out the flowers.
