Does anyone know if White Widow is a good candidate for 1st timer mainline technique?

I'm not sure, but I know that white widows can be squat water sucking monsters with huge roots that like to live in a large pot, which it looks like you have(5 gal?) One time I grew a seedsman widow and I had to flip it to flower earlier than I wanted because of the huge roots that overgrew the 10 inch pot. The plant had a fat stem but stayed short, but the leaves were starved by the end, and the flowers were anemic.

So long as its not an autoflower any plant can be maintained.

When recommending strains for mainlines, I mostly hear to pick strains that are described as medium to tall with a good amount of stretch to them. They say that because it's the stretch that really fills out the branches on your mainline with dense colas instead of sparse buds here and . You CAN mainline plants that stay short and bushy but it may not fill out quite as much since they don't stretch as much. Mainlining can build the structure of the plant but it can't change how genetics tells the plant to grow.

Training works on all plants.. it's just manipulating apical dominance no matter what made up jargon is used for it. would a lankier plant be easier to do mainline with? maybe... but shouldn't be so difficult to accomplish with a bushier plant, either, which is what WW typically is. The cross-breeding that takes place makes that a weaker correlation, of course. Lots of things called "WW" but any 1 seed producer could have breed it with god knows what to make seeds from it even if they bought a clone of whatever is considered the 'original' WW. just as "schwazing" is simply defoliation - a mass removal of leaves. Just a stupid word someone made up because they didn't realize the vocabulary already exists to describe it properly. LOL e.g. there's already a metric for miles per hour (or km per hour etc) .. but when i do it i step on the gas really hard, my accelleration is now called "schwazzing" BWHAHAHA.

What is mainline technique? White Widow is quite resilient strain should be okay for the first time growing weed, just don't overfeed!
