When transitioning to flower, how do we feel about subtracting one hour each day starting from 18 hrs a day down to 12 hrs a day? Or best to just hard switch from 18 to 12?

Hard switch. Defo with fems. Its the change in its whole ethos that causes stigmata to pop. The quicker you can build up pre flower sites, more sites. "More buds. You can increase your flowering time by over 1hr in pre flower and 2hrs during fattening. By using IR730NM you can put your fems to sleep in 5-10m instead of fems taking 2hrs for them to fully fall asleep. This will add to your DLI over pre flower and fattening.. giving more yield and used with right stim more sites. Good luck

it won't transition until it has a long enough, uninterrupted dark cycle. You don't need any special trick to do it. There's no way to make it happen faster. Once the hormone production goes over a threshold, the plant is changing gears before you can see a thing. If worried about the greater intensity of light, that might be something to slowly increase over 2-3 days.. but the lost photosynthesis might be a greater loss than any gain.. it's not something you can assume or see with our eyes.

No just flip. It will be easier to keep track of flower days a lot more accurately

You can, and it is probably healthier to do so, but generally unnecessary.

I do around 24 hours night even before they have 12 hours first day. In nature you can't influence environment, here you are GOD, so you just force many things, no need for life rhythm to repeat.
