how big do rock wool cubes have to be to grow a plant to maturity is a 50 ml by 50 ml cube be big enough to go from seed to flower if not how big does the cube have to be

If you plan to use it in a setup like DWC then the small ones are fine, the hydroton are what really hold the plant in place. If you want to grow exclusively in rock wool, like in a flood table, then I'd probably opt for either the 6 or 8 inch sizes.

I haven't had good experiences with rockwool. Hopefully someone who has will come along and give you some sound advice.
