the carbon filters you get have drastically different quality differences. If they give the mass of activated carbon, that's the best way to compare. also, must make sure the carbon filters recommended CFM is matched properly to your duct fan... usually if it's the same size, this is fine, but should not assum.. 4"er is probably 170cfm max give or take, and the carbon filter should say something similar. good carbon filters will eliminate most smell. Negative pressure in the grow area is key for it to be most effective, otherwise you have leaks of stinky air not exiting through the exhaust duct/filter. If you exhaust outside the room that should create negative pressure.

grow area is 80x60, but it looks pretty tall. ventilation is all about cubic meters. you need to know how many m3 has your box, so you can choose suitable filter and fan. maybe this fan is not strong enough. also don't forget that filter reduces air flow 20-30% and the 1m of tube can take another 10%

If smells are coming out then the rooms air is not moving fast enough. increase speed on exhaust fan. I found if I let me tent sit with no air movement from the extractor I smelled the weed. but as long as I had it on low setting nothing ever came out and it auto switched to high if things got out of wack like RH and Temps. For reference I use a carbon filter and vent into the same room it pulls air in from. Its not ideal but it works for me, It relies of negative pressure in the tent so its always pulling in fresh air and not leaking out, then the carbon filter eats the smells. When the filter is older, it will need to be refreshed or replaced.

put the carbon filter at the end of the line rather that the start this may help. in other words flip it around lol

Check there are no leaks that are bypassing the filter.
