After typing my down branches for last the stem was split and didn't heal so I cut the stalk above the 4th node. (The fifth was where it was split) Will my plant recover? This is my 2nd grow, also is the leaves curling from stress or too much water? Hybrid melon milk x pink kitty

sure.. it can handle worse than pruning a chunk off.
and when you damage a stem, if the vascular tissue isn't fully severed or it is a split, you can usually tape it back together and it will heal... assuming you catch it when it happens.. obviously, if it dries out, hard to heal dead tissue. Remove the tape once it's healed/strong so you don't restrict future growth.
