I consider the veg stage to start when I have a set of developed true leaves and it's ready to be transplanted out of the solo cup. The reason I consider this the start of veg is because I know it has developed a root system and that you no longer have worries that dampening off can occur.

Germination is till it pops up through the soil to me and the cotyledon leaves open up. Then I just mark on my calendar and count the days. Day 1-10 usually are just so boring and then it’ll pick up but by week 3(day 21) every day you notice a huge growth.

i simply count the days.. first week is the first 7 days above ground. I don't count weeks or days until they are completed. But it really doesn't matter. there are no rule except for the rules you choose to follow. as long as you are consistent, you know what it means when you look back for reference.

As soon as the cotyledons open and the first true leaves open as well, this is week one of veg in my book.
