These are my two photoperiod plants 'royal gorilla' and 'lemon shining silver haze'. I started them to germinate a week ago and today they are still so small. seeing many experiences here on grow diaries I realize that they probably should have grown much more. Is that normal..?

They look alright. They do seem a tad small for 5th day. Your medium looks very dry. You don’t give any info on how you’ve watered, or not, light distance or what’s in medium or anything. My guess is going to be too dry and light too close or too intense which is keeping it small because it doesn’t need to reach for light at all

You're fine. Sometimes it can take a week or longer for the sprout to even break ground, and sometimes they explode quickly. During your first couple weeks if you have growth issues arise, 9 times out of 10 it's going to be something going on at the root zone level. I don't think you're too dry....and you certainly don't wanna get them too wet. Doesn't look like you used any perlite, which helps to keep soil loose for root growth in addition to aeration. That would be my guess... slow root development. If you can repot without damaging your plants do so and incorporate a healthy amount of perlite when you do.
