Less is more. Do what is needed and stay the fuck away, lol. OCD is not your friend here. No picture; no information, so can't comment more than the basics.
water, wait for top to dry before repeating -- the exact timing depends on the substrate. A good wet-dry cycle is important for roots early on. You want that pot well-populated with roots by the time you get into flower, for sure.
