Automatics in flowering stage - what to do in case of rain

Springtime

How to cope with rain when plants are flowering? My automatics have entered flowering stage recently and in 2 days it will be raining in the night. Should I take them inside or let them outside to have a little bit stress?

This is really only a concern during late flower when buds start getting dense. If you're unable to move them or put up a small temporary structure like a little hoop house then do your best to shake off the plants afterwards to remove as much rain as you can. I would avoid coverings that directly touch your plants, like trash bags, as you're likely to trap moisture against the buds and create the mold you're trying to prevent.

They should do just fine outside with the rain. Remember these plants came from outside over thousands of years. If you are worried you could always give it a little shake in the AM to shed some of the water. Here is the rule with rain and our plants outside. Rain with sun after to dry is ok. Rain with no sun after and no airflow is bad. This can harbor mold. I only had an issue outside once when I had a stretch of rain with no sun and no wind for a few days. If you are very worried you could cover the plant with a tarp and remove it in the AM. People do this a lot, just remember to remove it. Hope this helps.

Rain on outdoor plants is normal and should be fine. If the plant is going to be stressed by rain and under-perform then you should not grow it again because its a little bitch lol. Jokes aside it will be fine, I have let my auto go from seed to harvest outside before and they got rained on a lot, did fine. If you worried you can place a tarp over them or bring them inside. Clear plastic also works and lets light in still but have to remember to remove it and water them accordingly if you shielded them from all the rain. One note on bringing plants inside from outside is pests. lots of things like to get into the soil and will come out when they are bring indoors. I had seen aphids and flays catch rides on plants when I do this. Best Of Luck!
