My plants are in the third week of flowering. I've already trimmed the lowest leaf pairs. Now my question is, can I also cut off the really big leaves that don't have any flowers? That way, more light would reach the leaves with flowers, or is that wrong?

Yes, that is wrong, it is not the flower leaves that make the flowers grow, but the big leaves. One big leaf makes as much energy as 20 smaller flower leaves!.
