It all depends on the protection class of your lamp. This should be displayed on the nameplate. (IP)
The IP protection classes have a specific designation, with the 3rd and 4th digits being particularly important. It starts with the digit 0 for no touch or water protection. From the combination of numbers, you can already see which protection class the device falls into.
Here’s a list of the protection classes:
IP20 - Protection against solid objects larger than 1.25 cm
IP22 - Protection against solid objects larger than 1.25 cm or vertically dripping water
IP23 - Protection against spray water. E.g., under canopies in the garden or entrance area
IP44 - Protection against splashing water and objects larger than 1 mm
IP65 - Dust protection and additional protection against water jets
IP67 - Wherever there is little environmental protection.
