When it comes to training, alwys start with an end target and work backward from there to make a plan. Distribute vascular tissue as evenly as you can. e.g. you don'dt want one primary branchign feeding 5 colas when the other primary branchces only feed 2 colas. You want to produce even growth across canopy.
So, how many colas do you want per area? Work backward from there. I'm going back to tighter control and better results after being quite relaxed about it for far too long. 2.5-3 colas per sq ft keeps you in good spot. You'll avoid overcrowding and the problems that come with it. Save time with less required maintenance.
Don't think more colas automatically = more yield. That's mostly about the DLI and area you have. Having a few colas per sq ft instead of mashing them in all together gives better nugs deeper into canopy, less trimming, more substantial nugs, and same yield or better if yoou still havea canopy tthat fully absorbes the light. Too many mouths to feed reduces bud size and competition for light in congested areas leads to stretching and larf less deep into canopy.
If it's an autoflower, just spread it out.. total crapshoot on amount of vege growth, lol.
