Hello growers I'd like people's take on EC in coco the end of the flowering. I use Plagrons calculator and it recommends 2.4 something tells me this is too rich and it might cause hermies. I dropped to 2.1 and don't see anything negative. Also I run a ph of 5.8. Thank you

First, you’re doing a great job by looking at charts measuring and comparing the different nutrient concentration levels across the lifecycle of the plant. That being said, running at EC greater than 2.0 is similar to racing cars. Sure the performance is magnificent, but you could blow up the motor anytime. So if you’re gonna run at a level this high, make sure that you’re in touch with your plants and that you immediately identify and correct any signs of stress. Different strains require different nutrient mixes, and this requirement can flip-flop in veg and flower. Like you might have a hungry strain in veg that doesn’t drink in flower. And the plant next to it has the opposite reaction. Personally, I run under 2.0 EC almost the entire grow. I do flush when I see signs of stress. I’ve blown up a few motors before so this is coming from experience. Best of luck on your grow
