Drying day 9 Still need some days, stems still bending… Which szenario would you choose? 50-55% RH / 24/25 C because dehumidifier warms up the tent 60-75% RH / 19-21 C when dehumidifert off. The 9 days drying were mostly at 60-65% RH / 20C Currently it‘s only the hay sme

Don't worry about the hay smell, the green stuff is still just breaking down. Stems cracking as the sign your buds are ready is not always true. Whether or not the stem will snap depends on a lot of things. 9 days in you should still have some stem bend. and seems like you have your drying room dialed for the most part. I've been 14 days into dry and still bendy stems, and other times i was 10 days in and got stem crack. one thing you could do so you don't over dry is to trim enough up to get into a jar so you can check its leaves. i would rather start trimming slightly early and not over dry them and let them sit out in my trim bin for a little than over dry and try to add humidity later. You are 9 days in so you are sort of in a safe zone, you dont have to worry about tons of extra moisture. i would just try to keep it where you've had it the last 9 days. you may not get full stem snap ar 14 days. noticed to that bigger stmes will snap before some of the smaller ones. so its really not a good judgment. on some of the popcorn buds. a good sign is when it pulls off the main stem with little to no string of the stalk pulled off. keep in mind that bigger buds will take longer to dry so try to break them down into pieces.

In the first few days, it would have been more beneficial to keep that 50-55 since there was so much moisture and at that point in the process if mostly about getting straight water out of the leaves not breaking down the chlorophyll. Then you want to extent the drying to get the best quality. there is personal preference involved with this some people like drier buds and can smoke better in dry herb vaporizers. but I like mine 60-62% humidity when finished. They seem to have more terps

I would go with the dehumidifier running, even though the quality might not be perfect. It is better than harvesting mold, which likes to germinate and colder and moist environment. When the temperature raises again, it spreads and there is nothing you can do but ditch that weed then. Having a constant humidity is always better to prevent fungal pathogens, when it varies up and down it can be risky.

Hey Organic_G! Based on your description, the drying process is progressing normally but isn't quite finished yet. Of the two scenarios you've presented, I'd recommend the first one: 50-55% RH at 24-25°C. Here's why: The lower humidity (50-55%) will speed up the drying process, which seems necessary at this point since the stems are still bending. The slightly higher temperature (24-25°C) will also help accelerate the process without risking damage to quality. While the second option is closer to ideal slow-drying conditions (60-65% RH / 20°C) that you used for the first 9 days, it might be beneficial to slightly speed up the process now. Keep checking your plants daily. When the smaller branches start to snap rather than bend, that's a sign you're nearing completion. Remember, drying too quickly can negatively impact flavor and aroma, so don't rush to increase temperature or decrease humidity too much. Good luck finishing up the process!

I would go with the lower Temps and the higher RH so you get the hay smell away. I think there is no risk for rot after 9 days so it will go well. Slow drying is the key but it takes a bit of patience :)
