Hi All! I have been growing indoors without a tent (built out attic) and would now like to purchase a tent, preferably 5x5 but am overwhelmed by everything that is offered online. I would like to try both feminisierte and autoflowers. Any suggestions on grow tent sets?

I'd buy based on sturdiness of poles used. Compare their weight allowances. Unfortunately for me, the only brand i know with thicker tent poles is ac infinity (threw up in my mouth a bit). But, if you can find comparable for cheaper, go for it. I wouldn't worry too much about canvas thickness as long as its 600d or better. If you plant to put it up and take it down repeatedly, then you might want to value canvas density more. They almost all come with 'some' pinhole leaks along seams or a zipper flap that's got a bad fold in it etc. The weight capacity is still the most important aspect. Check out weight of your expected equipment.. 50% of max or less is a good idea. Still a good idea to 'mostly' light-proof your attic. Run lights at night often saves kw-h costs and easier to dissipate heat. Some sort of exhaust from the area would still be good whether outside or not. Also, don't have to worry as much about light polluting tent through mesh intake ports or ducts. If your attic is already light-proofed, you can also consider the DIY route. If i could dedicate a room year round, I wouldn't have a tent. Polyfilm, something to hand it, a way to mount lights/equipment.. easy enough to do. Even good white paint is just as good as a mylar tent as far as refelctivity and any noticeable difference in results.

Big fan of secret jarden tents for their modular ports. but anything that has that would be in my top teir list. I don't like how other tents have precut ports or velco vents then you have to use them that way and it might not be the way you want to use it. Tents should not matter if you growing autos or photos, photos will need absolute darkness to flower and autos don't so pin hole leaks are less of a problem.

I chose Gorilla Grow tents because their zippers are more robust. I see tons of reviews on less expensive tents and most people always complain that the zippers gave out in a few months. The Gorilla is more expensive but I’m happy with my 4x4 and 2x4 tents. At the end of the day though a tent is a tent. The best tent is the one that suits your needs.

If you buy the equipment separately and find a good deal you will get more usable long-term stuff at a cheaper price. kits can be good but you can be kind of limited to the kit. you can mix and match certain things from brands. If you are getting 5x5 go with a gorilla tent. ac infinity sets are pretty good, but you could get better lights i started with their 3x3 kit, and the light gets a bit hot, and you can't remove the power supply. some light lets you put the power supply outside the tent to save on space and heat. Do not need a fancy controller bu ac Infinity does work well for me.
