Marbanyaanswered grow question 15 minutes ago There are a couple of theories on defoliating the sucker leaves. Some people prefer to tuck them under the other nodes to allow more light penetration down through the plant. In the case of the two large sucker leaves below the top node, I would just tuck them down inside the other growth. But, if it is just blocking too much light, then you can remove those leaves.
Better yet, try some Low Stress Training (LST) to shape the plant to expose as much light to lower nodes as possible.
Those leaves are the "solar panels" of your plant, catching light and turning it into chlorophyll.
