I always start my seeds in the pot that they will grow in, I’m thinking of going to an auto pot system, do I need to do anything different to start my seeds. I always use a mix of 50/50 HappyFrog/OceanForest, can I use that in auto pots, or a mix of soil/coco or just coco

Just checked your diary and I would say stick to hand watering and master that before auto feed as it takes away what you can learn and enhance your crop, ye you might get a better grow from autopots but you still havnt learn how to feed properly and will be a round about way to Bury your head and count on the system to do a better job than yourself. Takes all the fun away...

I think a soilless medium would work best for auto pots and a hydroponic style feeding where you provide everything to the plants in readily available nutrients vs things that need to be broke down by microbes. Plus soilless media hold less water then soil and helps the pot drain to avoid soggy wet roots.

The auto pot is the gravity fed system isn'nt it? Its certainly the easiest system out there. You'll probably be better off having a more airy substrate so I'd go with coco.

It depends on the watering system but of its bottom fed you need coco as soil will stay too wet and end up with problems, rot etc.. top fed you can use clay pebbles to allow for good aeration, depends what your planning on doing, there are ways to feed as if by hand but my timer pump, reservoir etc... Hope this helps..
